Three things

In lieu of proper posting...

1. Whumptober's prompt lists are out!

2. Thought this piece of SF found-fic posted to [community profile] rainbowfic lately was so clever and funny.

3. I don't think I've mentioned this (along with all the other watching/reading posts I've not been making) but I actually started a watch-all-the-Austens project last year. By dint of what fell into my hands and won't really won't, not at prices I'm willing to pay, I've actually done all the available Emmas & got to the two 1996s recently (last year did 1972, 2009 (♥) & 2020), although I haven't rewatched Clueless - I'll have to keep an eye on the charity shop offerings, just to be completist now. But, certainly, compared to most of the others, it was a five cakes situation, honestly - six, given Clueless, and I thought this vid was really well done and highlighted that in a fun way (even if they watched a slightly different five cakes to me - I don't do those kind of web series, though, so I'm not going that far):

(Am being slightly better at keeping up even! We'll see how it goes... Thank you for your continued patience. ♥)

What aren't you willing to pay high prices for? I'd be happy to keep an eye out for you in my local charity shops, just in case! (Also, did I remember right that you're looking for The Winslow Boy? The version with Jeremy Northam?)

Yay for getting The Winslow Boy at the third time of trying!

I'll keep my eyes open - there's also the local chap who brings tables full of books and DVDs to the Saturday Farmers' [sic] Market (I call it the street market 'cos there's nary a farmer in sight!). I've seen older movies on the table sometimes, even B&W ones, so it'll be worth my while to check when passing the tables!

I got The Winslow Boy finally - 3rd time lucky! Adored it, watched it 3 x in a row

It owed you all those views for all that trying!

Checking out the October list later ( I’ve tried doing things like this before- Honestly, how are you meant to do one each day? )

Is rainbowfic open to anyone ? 2nd Mom has been encouraging me to pretty soon start thinking of something that could be a book! 🥰 📚

Emma, PnP, and S & S are currently on my Watchlist.

Yay prompts and nice things to watch! :D

Good luck with all the Austens! You're on a classic groove this year. Does 'Sanditon' count?

If it ups your completed Austen watching it must be yes? I've been watching S3 of 'Sanditon' on ITVX, very C21st, but not the raunch-fest the current advert suggests.
lirazel: Emma and Mr. Knightley from the 2020 adaption of Emma fight in the dining room ([film] blamed you and lectured you)

We do have an abundance of excellent Emmas, don't we??? I can't wait to watch the vid!
lirazel: Emma from the 2009 adaption of Emma laughs ([tv] box hill)

Oh, I love The Winslow Boy! So underrated!
lirazel: Emma and Jane from Emma (2020) facing each other and dressed similarly ([film] really accomplished)

Oh, wow, what a cast! Is it any good? I haven't heard of that one but I may have to watch that one, despite the murdery things!

The small size of the British film industry is both endearing (all my favorites popping up again and again in new combinations!) and frustrating (I know it's notoriously hard to break into the industry if you don't have connections). But times like this make it extra fun!
lirazel: Emma and Harriet from the 2020 adaptation of Emma ([film] dearest friend)

And now I've seen the vid and I adore it! Will definitely watch it again!
lirazel: Lix Storm from The Hour works on film ([tv] got no bloody film)

That absolutely sounds like something I would enjoy! Thank you for bringing it to my attention!
