Yes, it is sad. He was 81 & had been ill, of course, but while there have been many Doctors and companions, there has only ever been one Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, and I think we all believed he'd make one last appearance in New Who. And Nicholas Courtney seems to have been one of the nicest people in existence. I have never, never seem my flist so unanimous over anything as over this.
