I can't answer this without being annoying, so shall be as irritating as possible, and tell how I LOLed at the idea that the weather was so bad you were going to wear trainers. Seriously, my 'ice rink' was not really an exaggeration. Were ice rinks lumpy and interrupted by roads. It snowed again last night, so not so icy again, but the ice is still there underneath - it feels weird, as though the snow fell on thick polythene a couple of inches down. Anyway, from what you say, you probably live somewhere pretty built up, so even in my seaside town, I am going to win on the snow front every time, so you should admit defeat now (or I'll bring in where I work, which I couldn't get to today for fear of having to abandon my car in a land the buses refuse to travel to - had to go to the Library instead and snaffle a pc there to do my work). We are trying for a literal interpretation of the bleak midwinter here. It's interesting, anyway. :-) I still haven't had a snowball fight or made a snowman, though - must do something about that...
Heh, yes, I had to drop out of my last two ficathons, which was why I kept clear of this one. I think I'm a little more reliable now, so risked signing up for Yuletide (I find I'm better when I'm writing a prompt for someone in these things). There were some lovely fics, though - yours included. Now that's done, maybe you can get the Eleven fic done (more of it would be nice), and on with the Great Work. ;-D
Oh, yes. I wrote most of it ages ago, but because it's a bit non-linear I couldn't do anything with it till I had it completely finished. I don't really expect anyone to have the patience to read it, but I enjoyed writing it. It is funny, tho', cos the idea started with me being flippant about having a fluffy (not literally) Silurian story out of our conversation about me not bothering to watch Cold Blood. Or be much interested in Silurians. :-)
