I quite understand preferring Wilmer. I think the main reason I like Rathbone so much (aside from him looking like the Holmes in my head!) is because of Rathbone himself. He was a genius swordsman, forever playing bad guys in swashbucklers, because his talent enabled him to make the hero look good! Such things appeal to me. :)

Wilmer seems to have impressed everybody though. I could never get into the Jeremy Brett series for some reason. (But then I think Robert Downey Jr is very good in the role, so probably I'm not to be trusted.)
