I looked at this too. Realised I don't like any of the tropes (and don't even known what some of them are). Gave up! Fanfic left me behind about twenty years ago...

With you on amnesia. If a character is introduced with it to start with, that's one thing. But when an existing character develops it, it's like they cease to be themselves, and it's just a matter of when they recover. "A man is the sum of his memories!"
