More things
1. We have another trailer!
(Still generally crossing my everything. I don't trust RTD any more but... it does look shiny still!)
2. In gifmaking, I did make some more s1 gifs of Wish Me Luck and actually did some Liz and Matty ones as well as a bit more Colin:

Plus some Colin and Matty:

3. I did actually write stuff for
no_true_pair, so that was good, but only original (
rainbowfic). I had ideas for that for the first 3 days, and then hoped to write 1-2 ficlets for the fannish prompts for the last couple, but I just wasn't feeling up to writing this week so much, so it didn't happen. I think the best thing for me to do is to ask for some more 500 Prompts from people again soon maybe. <3 But I did write things! So that was fun. (I don't really think I've found a good fannish strategy for the mini-round; the more random things tend to work better in the larger round.)
4. Other stuff I have forgotten? Please insert topic of interest here. ;-p

Yeah, well, I was delighted.
When I have the bandwidth for television, Wish Me Luck is on the list. The fact that a show about SOE women hadn't crossed my radar before you started posting about it is peculiar.

♥ ♥ ♥ I enjoyed it myself, but I did have a really lovely DW prompt for the last day, but I was just too flat to do anything that wouldn't have annoyed me forever afterwards.

It was popular enough here at the time, but it isn't really well known as such, so I don't think it's surprising it escaped even your interested gaze - it was 35 years ago, and Brit TV had done such a lot of WWII shows across the 70s and the 80s. WML was put together by the team who did Tenko, which is a lot more well-known and probably overshadows WML. And as I've mentioned, my parents must have watched it when I was ten and I simultaneously adored it and Matty and Liz and found it the most terrifying bit of nightmare fuel I'd ever seen in a completely fascinating way. As a TV show, it's hard to comment - I think overall, it's still very watchable and s1-2 are so female-centric, it's very refreshing even now. (S3 is less so, but it has different source material, and they lost a lot of the cast, but it goes for one hell of ending anyway.)

Could you go back for it when less flat?

It actually looks from my journal as though I ran into mention of Wish Me Luck on my own in 2019 (and asked you about it on general grounds of old telly and then presumably forgot the conversation had taken place in the trauma of the succeeding years) but I maintain that I talk about Leo Marks enough on the internet, someone still should have told me about it sooner!

I mean, that doesn't sound inappropriate to resistance work in WWII.

I could! They have an amnesty, but it's also true that the odds drop significantly once the proper posting period is over.

I hadn't rewatched it properly in years at that point, I have to say. I did see it on TV about ten or more years ago, but I wasn't taking in as much as I should, so I was mainly still going by childhood memories and feelings, some of which were very confused.

Nice! Did whatever it's from influence Viyony as a character, or just her casting?
no subject
Not at all. It was Nina's Heavenly Delights (2006) and I only just picked it up two weeks ago (although amusingly, I suppose she is also the eldest sister trying to salvage the family business in it).
Viyony came about from her turn in Death in Paradise. I knew I needed to do some slightly earlier-set Portcallan stories or otherwise I'd never be able to bring in earlier time periods in any of the others, and while it wasn't anything to do with her character in that as such, although a little of the situation, I saw her in that and Viyony sprang up almost instantly. Now I'm just doing retrospective research to prove me right and get some good reference stuff. She did amusingly pop up for a minute or two, or less, in Possession during my Jeremy Northam explorations last summer, so UK TV & films remains fully incestuous as ever, although they were not in the same time period in that! :-)
(I am still going through Terra Nova, but very slowly, as with everything these days, it seems, and that was 10 years later than Nina, same as DiP, and my vague memories of her from Mistresses were not very Viyony-like at all.)

The Christmas episode was surprisingly fun. So I kind of want to see where this goes.
Yay for writing! Been doing it too, just… not really posting much.

Aw, and ya for writing. And not everything has to be posted, if you're not feeling like it. You can post it whenever suits you! ♥

Well done for getting fic done!
Stuff forgotten?

And, you're right! How could I forget
(ETA: I was so unconventional I couldn't type it right.)

I know the Beeb pretty much already have, courtesy of the iPlayer, but I want another dozen episodes with Ncuti in them now. Or thirty, I'm not picky. (I am, obviously.)
