In which I feel the need to gratuitously quote the Radio Times again...
Okay, snippet from the latest Spooks write-up from Alison Graham. (I cut only for any sensitive flowers who can't even bear to read the 'blurb' about the next episode 9.04, as I am related to one or two.)
"The splendid, wholesome Ruth Evershed emerges from the Grid to be quietly heroic... In her plucky Chalet School way she risks her life to jolly well save us all from certain annihilation."
Ruth At the Chalet School, anyone? Oh, my. My head goes to crossover-land very easily, as everyone will know by now, but even so... She'd like it there. Except when she felt the need to be evil, as she does occasionally. (Probably the only other person on my flist who will get the wonder will be
paranoidangel42, but I couldn't keep it to myself.)
And
persiflage_1 will no doubt approve of her proper verdict of Mary from Downton Abbey as "the toxic Lady Mary..." Heh, again.

(I'm not sure how long it'll be when I'm done, but it is currently 26 pages, and might have as many to go yet, so don't worry if it's a bit much. It isn't anything very exciting either, or at least, not for anyone who's not me, but it is a little complicated, so I'd be grateful for a second opinion.)

No, I'm kind of ashamed of myself and trying not to say what it is, because it's actually a sort of prequel and sequel to the UNIT fics, (I said it was complicated) - a What Happened to Nat's Dad, with Torchwood and Silurians, and it's technically set in three time periods (1955, 1968, and 1988). So, when it's ready to see the light of day, aside from the usual beta-ing, someone to check that it isn't too confusing and none of the sections are horribly anachronistic somewhere would be very much appreciated. :-D
