Welcome post

Hail, fellow travellers, and well met. My Dreamwidth is mostly for fic, recs, icons, vids and fannish nonsense & fic/vids/icons etc. generally remain open. I'm terribly obscure and multi-fannish, but generally happy to make new friends with shared fandom interests.

My fic:

Dear Author tag, for exchange letters.

Friending/subscribing: Please drop a comment here (or any other public post) to say hi first and let me know how we know each other, or which fandom(s) we share. I'll usually friend you back if I recognise your name.

Hey! Hope you don't mind me friending you - you have great taste in slightly obscure fandoms.

Friended :)

Lmao. Quite so. But, in answer - there's Classic Who for one thing (Three! Delgado!). And I was basically bottlefed British mysteries all through childhood, which resulted in an unwieldy Holmes obsession, so there's that. Also Jonathan Strange = amazing. More peripherally, how often do you hear of Wodehouse, Red Dwarf or Allo Allo these days, haha. So if either of those crosses my flist even once in a blue moon that can only be an improvement. :)

Aw, yeah, I can imagine. My old friend who got me into DW is a bit defensive of Colin Baker too, haha. I don't know him well enough, but I do love Seven. ♥

Well I'm going to enjoy hearing about all these lost treasures! I have a massive backlog of Holmes adaptations and then possibly Raffles adaptations to work through (life's work, y/n) so I can sympathise. :)

Oh, that's cool! I've had that recommended to me actually. Will try to get round to it after the 1954 Ronald Howard (and then there's the Bert Coules radioplays)... a quick google image search seems to tell me Roger Delgado is in it! Speak of the devil. That'll be fun.

I'm not 100% sure what I think of Anthony Valentine purely based on his looks (I get picky about that stuff), but we shall see!

Oh yes. Current telly, too - my mum says that watching British mystery tv is a bit like a family reunion because it's all familiar faces, haha.

they keep stealing things! I KNOW. I'm torturing myself slowly by reading the books atm, and every time they come up with some new harebrained plan (well, I say "they") I'm practically reading through my fingers. It's a train wreck of dysfunction but I can't seem to stop watching it unfold ;)
