Pairing Meme

I've seen this go around, and I finally thought of some descriptions/quotes/moments to use for some ships, so here they are. Your mission is to guess the pairing by the description. (There is probably some proper meme blurb for it, but I'm a bit behind the times.)

I am pretty sure I have at least mentioned them all, I've written fic for some and definitely mentioned the fandom. There's one threesome (so, there's a clue, but it was either that or I'd have to have the 3 component pairings in separately). The pairing in my icon is not included. I don't think I'd describe some of them as OTPs, though. One or two might be a little random...

I've not seen this meme at all. But I know some of those pairings! And there are others I'm sure I know, I just can't think at the moment of who they are.

2 is Lynda/Spike

4 is Ian/Barbara

11 is Sarah/Harry

23 is definitely Sam/someone else, but I can't think who she was explaining the pencil to now. Perhaps Sam/Kenny?

Well, I'd say #9 is definitely some Georgette Heyer couple, but possibly not one I've read? Or possibly Hugo/Anthea. I can't recall.

#3 is S&S(&S), but it took me a minute. LOL! (It might have taken me longer if my geology professor hadn't been making "Sedimentary, my dear Watson" jokes all yesterday's class. *g*)

#14 is Brig/Liz, isn't it? I haven't seen "Spearhead" in way too long.

Also, I keep feeling like I should recognize #6, but I can't quite. Is it a fandom I know at all? *fishing for hints, yes* ;P

10 is Sapphire/Steel/Silver (the first thing I thought of when you said threesomes and a nice description btw), but I see johne was ahead of me there. :D

Yes. And most of the descriptions are actual quotes/paraphrases of quotes from the ships in question.

Some more tentative (or outright tongue-in-cheek) guesses:
6. Those look like D&D character classes to me. <hits wikipedia> which would be Hank/Sheila. Either that or hammer Neele/Dove until it fits.
7. Could be Brig/Liz as well, given Happy Endings, Hasty Exits.
18. Jamie/Victoria.
22. Ten/Martha, because they played Beauty and the Beast in Storytime.

Well, on balance 5 out of 8 is still pretty good. ;-)

22 is a very well-known ship with a misleading quote (it's just my favourite thing that character said to the other). And you in particular should be able to get 7, even though it's not a fandom of yours...

That's the idea of annoying memes like this one, I think!! There are 2 other B7 pairings in there, btw. Nobody's gone near either of them yet. I don't think anyone's even given me wrong guesses for those numbers.

I've been having that same problem. I'm really embarrassed now that I didn't get Sarah/Harry, because I *knew* I recognized that quote, but I couldn't place it.

The only one I was semi-sure about was #3 being Sapphire/Silver/Steel, but it turns out that was a wrong guess. At least I was right about that being the threesome. Partial credit?

if it's any help, 8 & 18, and 12 & 16 are from shows we both know. No one else has guessed anyone from either of those, yet, even though they are much more mainstream than my usual sorts of thing.

16 I chose because it's kind of misleading, and the pairing were such an obvious one I wanted a less recognisable quote.

Probably that doesn't help, but it's true.

Also, :lol:, anyone who didn't know who the threesome were really, really hasn't been paying any attention to my LJ since last June. I'm having a belated teenage obsession. But you can have credit, yes!!! It's sad that I wasn't cunning enough to think of 3 as a description of them, but it is just a quote from something else.

You know many, many things that other people don't. You could probably translate each of these sentences into a different language and make the meme impossible to play.

(Also, I wonder if you have a Clyde/Rani hiding somewhere in there where I can't find them. But that's just cos I ship them like whoa, not because it's part of the requirements in form 45-8a[ii]).
