Fic: A Gallifreyan at Blandings
(Otherwise known hereabouts as Story C because I wasn't entirely sure I could pull it off in practice. So apologies, flist for being coy and mysterious on the subject. Not to mention pretentious, now I come to think of it.)

Summary: Lord Emsworth's current secretary is the barmiest yet. He chases aliens, digs holes in the gardens, proposes to girls he has no intention of marrying. Worst of all, he's unsound on the subject of pigs.

tardis_genfic. I was reccing a Wodehouse crossover on calufrax the other day and thought, hmm, don't think I've ever seen anyone do a Blandings rather than Jeeves and Wooster crossover. This was fatal. Next second I was assaulted by images of Ten as Emsworth's latest secretary and a rough plot. I wrote a page or two and it seemed possible. So I've been reading Wodehouse and using Wikipedia's helpful list of characters (I'd only got five out of Emsworth's nine sisters.) And using this as an excuse to buy two of the books I don't have... Hah.
Anyhow, writing this and reading in between just makes me ever more admiring of Wodehouse, as you might expect. But I hope people'll still enjoy it. Fingers crossed I've got the spirit of the thing and made an attempt at raising my game. Now I want to go and write something where I don't have to flounder around trying hopelessly to write like a genius. (And you know what: in my reading, I came across a sequel. Don't hold your breath people).
