I got tagged by persiflage_1 to do this meme. I have to tag people as well - apologies if anyone doesn't want to be...

A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it".



1. fact This is the first time I've been tagged to do a meme. (I think.)

2. quirk I get obsessive about which pen/paper I write which story with/on. But not scarily so. I will write with/on anything to hand when the moment calls for it.

3. fact I own too many books and still give the wrong ones away.

4. habit I tap the covers of books when I read. Luckily, I usually read on my own.

5. fact I'm finding this a really hard meme.

6. quirk When presented with a prompt for fic, I look at it, then work out how to turn it upside down and try and get in the back way (as it were).

7. fact I am therefore too obscure for my own good, but some people like this, some people really don't. (Someone once suggested I wrote a Nine/Rose Phantom crossover. I had to confess my immediate reaction was "...So, do they sing?" This was not what the person was expecting, I feel. We parted, still friends, but with fic unwritten. And recipients in ficathons don't always appreciate this either. The people who hang around here with me don't seem to mind).

But that's a perfectly *sensible* question - and exactly what I'd ask should anyone be mad enough to suggest such a thing to me!

And recipients in ficathons don't always appreciate this either. The people who hang around here with me don't seem to mind.

Seems obvious that it'd be a musical fic, really. Someone's done a Ten/Martha DW/Phantom x-over fic (it's on ff.net) but it's adult, so I won't point you at it.

Thanks. Yes, probably not my thing, is it? :-D I've seen lately on Teaspoon that someone's been posting a Nine, Rose Phantom story and I keep meaning to have a look. (I can't help wondering if they were put up to it!!)

From your remark about singing, I presume you mean the Phantom of the Opera. But Wikipedia's disambiguation page gives a long list of phantoms, including a comic-book superhero and Sir Charles Lytton from the Pink Panther films. Not to mention the Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town and the Phantom Head Shaver of Brighton (hmmm... would that explain Nine's haircut?)

As for your tagging me, I'm not sure, given my minuscule flist, that it's logically possible for me to fulfil the meme conditions.

Heh. You would. Yes, naturally I meant Phantom of the Opera (and in this case, we were talking the book, show and film.)

Spike Milligan seems to have been rather fond of that kind of title; the episode before The Phantom Head Shaver of Brighton was The Dreaded Batter Pudding Hurler of Bexhill-on-Sea.

I've never experienced the Phantom of the Opera — the closest I've come is reading Maskerade.

I have to confess that I love Phantom. And I love Maskerade to pieces. Maskerade does come pretty close - it even has Michael Crawford in it! ;-)

This is probably why we've never been seen in TTR at the same moment - I'm too busy running and hiding under tables, after saying things like, "Macbeth, eh?" and "Wilkie Collins!"

I was just curious. I didn't imagine anyone could be rifling about on my LJ this far back, not without having had complete brain implosion before getting here... :-D

(I mean, I can't speak for someone else, but I can't imagine JJ minding you friending him - but I know what you mean. I am still terribly shy about it, and usually wait for the other person to ask, although I was quite bold ages ago with some people - Prim, Clocket, JJ - I kept having reviews that became nr conversations over on Teaspoon - the 'Spoon is not the place for chatting, so it was a relief to find them on LJ.)

Don't worry - I won't tell if you don't! I tagged pretty much all my more 'active' friends. Now that I look at it again, it is a bit of a nagging mean. And it was hard to think of things.

Also, totally agree with #5... It's surprisingly difficult to come up with 7 random bits of information about oneself. I thought of mine while I was trying to fall asleep. (And, fortunately, remembered them when I woke up!)

Heh. Oh, yes. I started it in this notebook, in this pen, so I 'can't' write it anywhere else or with a different pen. Unless I have to and then I scowl a bit and get on with it. ;-)

I have a nice notebook that I bought with my birthday money for writing drabbles and oddments in - it has dw100 prompts and other bits in, ready for if I'm bored on the train or something and I love it. Ah, stationery addiction is a terrible thing...

If you're going to write a Who musical, shouldn't it really be based on Tommy, rather than Phantom? #Doctor can you hear me? Doctor can you see me?# It could be a song for Martha!

I also love stationary products. I window shop at office supply stores. I bought a journal recently that was handmade to look like River Song's TARDIS journal. I haven't written in it yet; I just pet it, and hug it and call it George.

Aw, you got it bad. Write in the notebook! It's the only way forward, difficult though it is to abandon the dream of the perfect things that might get written in it otherwise. :-)
