Meme

I got tagged by [livejournal.com profile] persiflage_1 to do this meme. I have to tag people as well - apologies if anyone doesn't want to be...

A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
B. Tag seven people to do the same.
C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it".

1. fact This is the first time I've been tagged to do a meme. (I think.)

2. quirk I get obsessive about which pen/paper I write which story with/on. But not scarily so. I will write with/on anything to hand when the moment calls for it.

3. fact I own too many books and still give the wrong ones away.

4. habit I tap the covers of books when I read. Luckily, I usually read on my own.

5. fact I'm finding this a really hard meme.

6. quirk When presented with a prompt for fic, I look at it, then work out how to turn it upside down and try and get in the back way (as it were).

7. fact I am therefore too obscure for my own good, but some people like this, some people really don't. (Someone once suggested I wrote a Nine/Rose Phantom crossover. I had to confess my immediate reaction was "...So, do they sing?" This was not what the person was expecting, I feel. We parted, still friends, but with fic unwritten. And recipients in ficathons don't always appreciate this either. The people who hang around here with me don't seem to mind).

Oh, look, I managed it!

Okay, I tag: 1. [livejournal.com profile] jjpor, 2. [livejournal.com profile] stellastars, 3. [livejournal.com profile] velvetfacism, 4. [livejournal.com profile] john_elliott, 5. [livejournal.com profile] daibhid_c, 6. [livejournal.com profile] primsong and 7. [livejournal.com profile] ravenskyewalker to do the same.

([livejournal.com profile] belantana, I had a feeling you might not like it!)

(Someone once suggested I wrote a Nine/Rose Phantom crossover. I had to confess my immediate reaction was "...So, do they sing?" This was not what the person was expecting, I feel.

But that's a perfectly *sensible* question - and exactly what I'd ask should anyone be mad enough to suggest such a thing to me!

And recipients in ficathons don't always appreciate this either. The people who hang around here with me don't seem to mind.

*shrugs* It's just you!

Heh, thanks. :-D

You are who you are.

Well, naturally my mind drifted towards a musical fic, because... *coughs* If I could write songs, I'd have ended up doing it. It would have been amusing...

Seems obvious that it'd be a musical fic, really. Someone's done a Ten/Martha DW/Phantom x-over fic (it's on ff.net) but it's adult, so I won't point you at it.

Really?

I must have skipped over that - what with it being Rose and all...

I would love to read a good, amusing musical Who-opera. Oh yes!

Someone once suggested I wrote a Nine/Rose Phantom crossover

From your remark about singing, I presume you mean the Phantom of the Opera. But Wikipedia's disambiguation page gives a long list of phantoms, including a comic-book superhero and Sir Charles Lytton from the Pink Panther films. Not to mention the Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town and the Phantom Head Shaver of Brighton (hmmm... would that explain Nine's haircut?)

As for your tagging me, I'm not sure, given my minuscule flist, that it's logically possible for me to fulfil the meme conditions.

Spike Milligan seems to have been rather fond of that kind of title; the episode before The Phantom Head Shaver of Brighton was The Dreaded Batter Pudding Hurler of Bexhill-on-Sea.

I've never experienced the Phantom of the Opera — the closest I've come is reading Maskerade.

The Phantom Head Shaver of Brighton does indeed sound like a fic in the making!

You have been and gone and done it now. Oh yes.

Yup, I am now going to officially declare myself your Muse, I think. Or tormentor or something, but aren't they the same thing in the Round? ;-D

Well, I couldn't wish for a more charming Muse. Or tormentor.

Then again, you won the drabble tennis...

Only by using a double-drabble, which may count as cheating :-)

[identity profile] jjpor.livejournal.com 2009-09-21 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh - I now want to see Doctor Who: The Musical (it'd probably just be called "Who!", or possibly "Who?")... With Nine in a mask, too!

I will endeavour to respond to your tag without being too boring and/or pointless... ;D

[identity profile] curuchamion.livejournal.com 2011-02-18 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
O_O JJPOR and Primsong and Doctor Who: The Musical... I suppose this never happened, did it?

[identity profile] curuchamion.livejournal.com 2011-02-18 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
...I think I was nosing at JJ's LJ (I've never actually friended him, I'm too shy) and JohnE linked the conversation about the Phantom Head Shaver of Brighton. I seem to have a habit of following links from DbyA peoples... *g*)

Oh dear. I don't often participate in memeage, but will think about this. I may not answer it, but I'll think about it. ;-)

C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it".

Hmph. I'm not in the habit of tagging, either! *sigh*

Hee! This makes complete sense to me!

Also, totally agree with #5... It's surprisingly difficult to come up with 7 random bits of information about oneself. I thought of mine while I was trying to fall asleep. (And, fortunately, remembered them when I woke up!)

Musical fic please!! (But I think to make a proper musical-fic you'd have to cast roles, sing, and put it on youtube... so let me know if you ever get around to that; I'll sing a part long-distance!)

Re meme:

1. fact I don't really do memes; [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook is clever to have noticed this!
2. quirk This is a quirk I have!
3. fact I will do a meme if I ever think up a set of answers which isn't dull and repetitive, like this one is...

[identity profile] librarylover82.livejournal.com 2009-09-24 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Nice list!

If you're going to write a Who musical, shouldn't it really be based on Tommy, rather than Phantom? #Doctor can you hear me? Doctor can you see me?# It could be a song for Martha!

I also love stationary products. I window shop at office supply stores. I bought a journal recently that was handmade to look like River Song's TARDIS journal. I haven't written in it yet; I just pet it, and hug it and call it George.
