Drabble-meme

Snaffled from [livejournal.com profile] primsong, since how could I ever pass up the opportunity of a drabble from her?

The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble of any pairing/character with a prompt. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. (As Prim said, I'm sure art or icons, or something will be acceptable. Should your name be [livejournal.com profile] jjpor, a promise to write 1000 words of original fic will suffice! ;-D. In fact, who's telling, anyway? I'm not!)

1. [livejournal.com profile] john_elliott: Leela & Wilf. Old Soldiers
2. [livejournal.com profile] pitry: Tegan & Romana. Screwdriver
3. [livejournal.com profile] primsong: Benton. Job Satisfaction
4. [livejournal.com profile] akashasheiress: Liz/Brig One Small Hitch
5. [livejournal.com profile] belantana: Tilly Holmes, some 1980s contraption. First Battle
6. [livejournal.com profile] paranoidangel42: Harry and Sarah (Sullivan or Pearce!). Outmanoeuvred
7. [livejournal.com profile] jjpor: Bambera/Ancelyn.
8. [livejournal.com profile] persiflage_1: Hex/Martha, candles. Burned
9. [livejournal.com profile] pedanther: Captain Yates, Captain Magambo, robots Intrusion
10.

I mainly write Doctor Who, but I listed other things I will happily try here for a previous meme. Anything I have mentioned liking is also fair game, especially for a drabble. It's nice to have something different!

Not asking for a drabble, but wondering if you've seen this? I figured it would interest you!

Why doesn't it work for you, yet it works for me? I've clicked on that link (in my previous comment to this one) twice, and it works FINE!

Oh.

So are you going to go to the show?

I don't know. I'll have another look at the link & take the details in properly. (I was much too distracted by drabble prompts).

Heh, okay! I was thinking I might go, if there's a performance I can get to without it clashing with work since it's only on 3 nights in Oxford!

Btw, if you want one, I'll never ever tell if you don't want to run with the meme. I thought after I should have altered that bit to be optional - these so-bossy memes!!!) ;-)

Ooh! Yes please! I didn't ask for one because I have so many Holiday Gift fics outstanding still, thanks to my stupid shoulder giving me so much trouble again the last couple of weeks that I can't concentrate to do much writing.

Can I have another Martha & Hex one please? Prompt - candles

pedanther: Picture of the Pink Panther wearing brainy specs and an academic's mortar board, looking thoughtful. (pedantry)

You have to put the "http://" bit in front. If you don't, the web browser (at least some web browsers) will think that it's a link to a page within the current site, instead of a link to a different site.

Yes I realised I'd missed that off the first link (I was tired and it was getting late for me). Doesn't explain the second link not working when I DID put that on!

I'm not sure where this springs from, but Leela and Wilf?

[identity profile] pitry.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
In the spirit of yesterday's discussion...Tegan and Romana. (under 'characters', not 'pairings').

[identity profile] primsong.livejournal.com 2010-01-19 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
For standard characters I'd say how about a nice bit o' Benton?

If you'd like to wander into the weeds, I'd be interested in what might happen if Doris and Fiona had to meet.

Liz = ♥!

Oh what the hell, I don't think I've ever written a drabble before!

Tilly please, preferrably encountering some sort of inexplicable 1980s contraption. :D

Sarah and Harry (either Harry - surprise me :))

[identity profile] jjpor.livejournal.com 2010-01-20 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds like a bargain I can't pass up! ;-D Tell you what, give me some Bambera/Ancelyn and I'll do 1000 words of blokes trying to knock each other off horses with big pointy things (it's even thematically linked, as you can see!)

I wanted to play, but I'm no good at thinking of prompts, so I've resorted to the Random Pairing Generator. It suggested several prompts involving people I don't know, one I liked so much I've kept it for myself, and then:

Captain Yates, Captain Magambo, robots

(On the whole I think I would prefer that you take this simply as a character prompt, without shipping the Captains with each other or either with the robots.)
