Fic: Confessions and Crocodiles

Story: Confessions and Crocodiles
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating: All Ages/PG
Word Count: 2143
Characters/Pairings: Tenth Doctor, Lynda Day
Warnings: MAJOR spoilers for the final episode of Press Gang (also spoilers for S1 eps 'Monday-Tuesday' and 'Shouldn't I Be Taller?'). (Post Waters of Mars for Ten.)

Summary: Either the Doctor is having a nightmare featuring an odd girl in pyjamas, or Lynda Day is having yet another weird dream, this one involving a chatty, skinny guy... or something even stranger is going on this time.

This one was brought about by a suggestion from [livejournal.com profile] pitry. However, I am an evil person, who then wrote a spoilerish fic. Plus, it was going to be very bleak and dark, and then ended up... not. (As ever with me!) However, I wrote it anyway. (It's been okayed onto Teaspoon already.)

Will it be not-terribly-inappropriate if I use this opportunity to SCREAM?... I hate Teaspoon's DNS problems. I really would like not to write my essay now but do something else and this sounds fantastic. But no Teaspoon for me. :(

Luckily thing I guessed this would happen and saved a bunch of links for my calufrax reccing week on one of the (now ever growing) moments of grace Teaspoon did exist, or otherwise there would have been no reccing from me this week. :|

*screams in frustration*
*goes back to finish her essay*
*doesn't want to*

*frustrated Pitry is frustrated*
erm, sorry for the spamming. :|

There's a whole thread about it in [livejournal.com profile] whofic. The problem is that because this is a) on and off and b) it's only specific users, it seems like the mods think the problem is on the specific users' end rather than on Teaspoon.I think this isn't the case, as I had a very similar thing last year with Outpost Gallifrey Doctor Who Forum Gallifrey Base. And it turned out to be on their end. But no one knows :(

Annoying bit is it's been going on for a couple of months now. :( And I had Teaspoon running fine all of last week... so I had a feeling Murphy will come back to bite me and it will be down this week! So I saved about 5 stories, hoped to be able to go there and catch the last 2... it seems there will be no Torchwood recs from me this week :| (and yes! You should rec. They keep on running out of people.... )

Erm, erm, erm, if it won't be too much of a trouble, I'd love you to post this on the other journal! :D This story sounds so much fun. (if it is I can just be patient and wait for Teaspoon to come back, it probably will in a week or so).

Wooooooooooooow! That was all shades of wonderful.

It was a bit dark. I liked the way it kept on creeping towards darkness, with all the conversation of hell and guilt... and then Lynda dismissing it all as nonsense whenever it was getting to close. And the Doctor was wonderfully nonsensical and in character. Did I mention you should write more Ten? He was so wonderfully spot-on, and despite the popularity, not that many people manage to get his behaviour right and his voice right and make it all so brilliant!

And now I want to see Lynda Day as companion. BECAUSE THE UNIVERSE WILL IMPLODE.

(Teaspoon issues, well I don't blame them for thinking the problem is on the users' end, I thought it as well last year til they fixed the problem and I could see the "sorry for this" post - even technical support websites I posted on said the problem is probably my ISP. IT apparently looks like my ISP is blocking their server while what actually happens is their server blocking my ISP. I think. *is confused*)

Oh, trust me. There are days I'm dying for a spamming of my flist. Especially by lovely fic. If I ever start watching too many people/ comms and it becomes a problem I'll probably turn it off, but I friended it exactly for the possibility of being flooded by interesting things to read when Mongolian becomes too much of a disaster! :) Unless you'd rather it be kept off the radar and people's flist?

Hmmm... darkness-wise, I accept that there's darkness in that episode - it definitely sounds like it! Just like there's a lot of darkness in Waters of Mars. I think it's the connection between these two events that works and gives it the hints of darkness though. It's like Lynda says, she automatically assumes she's going to hell and so does the Doctor - which tells you quite a disturbing thing (and I admit not to know about Lynda but definitely IC and making complete sense with the Doctor) about the characters - and then Lynda's complete rational attitude about the whole thing! :)

(GAH. I should never have said a word. Teaspoon is already off again :( )

*flails incoherently*

Re spoiler, lols I'm pretty sure I missed those two episodes because I think I'd remember a plot point like that! AHHHHH LYNDA NO.

I love this, the voices are fantastic, I love how it's pretty much all dialogue and so snappy and Ten in all his over-the-top glory and YAY, I will read this again when I am actually awake.
