pitry. However, I am an evil person, who then wrote a spoilerish fic. Plus, it was going to be very bleak and dark, and then ended up... not. (As ever with me!) However, I wrote it anyway. (It's been okayed onto Teaspoon already.)

Posted it HERE for you. You should bear in mind, regarding the spoiler that will make no sense, that this is my take on the ending... and there are alternative readings of it.

It was a bit dark. I liked the way it kept on creeping towards darkness, with all the conversation of hell and guilt... and then Lynda dismissing it all as nonsense whenever it was getting to close. And the Doctor was wonderfully nonsensical and in character. Did I mention you should write more Ten? He was so wonderfully spot-on, and despite the popularity, not that many people manage to get his behaviour right and his voice right and make it all so brilliant!
And now I want to see Lynda Day as companion. BECAUSE THE UNIVERSE WILL IMPLODE.
(Teaspoon issues, well I don't blame them for thinking the problem is on the users' end, I thought it as well last year til they fixed the problem and I could see the "sorry for this" post - even technical support websites I posted on said the problem is probably my ISP. IT apparently looks like my ISP is blocking their server while what actually happens is their server blocking my ISP. I think. *is confused*)

Yep, but most of the darkness comes straight out of There Are Crocodiles the final episode, the outcome of which is left to the viewers' discretion. Btw, apologies - I posted it so quickly, and then went out I didn't notice till later I'd lost the first two sentences with a bit of careless formatting. Whoops...
I've seen you're back on Teaspoon - fingers crossed it stays that way!! (And thanks for pointing me to
Oh, and just to warn you - I hadn't let on that I was doing a fic journal because it's still a WIP - therefore some days I will post loads on to it. I'm saying this because you friended it, which is lovely. But maybe not so much if you're watching it, and I spam your flist every now and then. ;-)

Hmmm... darkness-wise, I accept that there's darkness in that episode - it definitely sounds like it! Just like there's a lot of darkness in Waters of Mars. I think it's the connection between these two events that works and gives it the hints of darkness though. It's like Lynda says, she automatically assumes she's going to hell and so does the Doctor - which tells you quite a disturbing thing (and I admit not to know about Lynda but definitely IC and making complete sense with the Doctor) about the characters - and then Lynda's complete rational attitude about the whole thing! :)
(GAH. I should never have said a word. Teaspoon is already off again :( )

Thanks again for your compliments there. I'm glad the point I wanted to make still came across, because that was really it, but I thought I'd kind of missed the mood somehow, but I got the fic to the point where I liked it anyway...
Oh no!! :-( Bad, bad Teaspoon. Or bad internets, whatever is behind it. You know, it sounds like the Evil Plot of the Master.
