I've been thinking about this since I talked about favourite memes the other day. And, you know, maybe it's been long enough that we could risk it again? Let's see:

1. Comment to this post with "I surrender!" and I'll assign you the basis of some TV show idea. (Science fiction show, medical drama, criminal procedure, etc...)
2. Create a cast of characters, including the actors who'd play them.
3. Add in any actor photos, character bios and show synopsis that you want.
4. Post to your own journal.

Hmm, hmm, I am not doing so well with ideas now, but: a quest to find x lost artefacts of some kind! (Setting real world or any other, your choice). The catch: you need to find the right person to find each one; each artefact only answers to one particular person.

Er, that's a bit weird, sorry. Do what you will with it. You have freedom to wiggle as much as needed. :-)

Okay, a 1960s Secret Agent Alien-Fighting, Supernatural-investigating, Mad-Scientist-unmasking Team. But it's a comedy! In retro technicolour such as you need sunglasses for. With hi-jinks. And probably shenanigans. And definitely harrassed Men from the Ministry. (It's so hard keeping all these things secret, right?)

ETA: Oh, and bonus points for refs to any of the many real TV shows that would fit that description. And bonus bonus points for alien invaders, who are in fact alien tourists seeing the sights and unable to understand why humans keep persecuting them while they're trying to land somewhere near the Eiffel Tower. (I might be suddenly liking my own idea too much. Ignore me. Take it your own wicked way and have it been a black comedy or secretly tragic or something. *hands it over and behaves*)

Now that the interstellar war is over, a party of (probably motley souls) go in search of the famed lost city/planet/colony of x. Of course, lost isn't necessarily the same as dead...

Oh dear. This might not turn into a TV show (or maybe it will?), but you've just given me the plot twist that was lacking for my two year novel project.

(hmm... and maybe casting the characters will make it easier to get a handle on them?)

I like it. You know my boxes and how to tick them all too well... I've already got a name for my main character - but no idea who plays the part yet. And yes, I can see it working as a comedy series. Watch this space. ;)

Except for not being set in the '60s, The Middleman actually fits the description pretty well, especially the numerous references to other TV/movies.
