Fic: Ten Times The Doctor (Almost) Got Hitched
Story: Ten Times the Doctor (Almost) Got Hitched
Author:
lost_spook
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 5700
Characters/Pairings: First Doctor, Second Doctor, Ben Jackson, Polly Wright, Third Doctor, Liz Shaw, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, Fourth Doctor, Harry Sullivan, Sarah Jane Smith, Fifth Doctor, Tegan Jovanka, Turlough, Sixth Doctor, Evelyn Smythe, Seventh Doctor, Bernice Summerfield, Eighth Doctor, Charley Pollard, Ninth Doctor, Jack Harkness, Rose Tyler, Tenth Doctor
Warnings: Technically spoilers for the CIN clip, but I really, really wouldn't worry. However, I should apologise for the shocking use of historical figures.
Summary: You wouldn't believe how difficult it is for a passing Time Lord not to get married a famous woman completely by accident. Seriously. Happens all the time.
Another one for which I hold DbyA to blame - I have lots of other things to be writing! But I suppose I did very much enjoy writing most of it, especially Seven and Eight.
As usual, be patient until okayed onto Teaspoon.

ETA as I do my post-posting beta thing:
While I may be forced to accept that that contraption of yours took you elsewhere briefly, you can hardly me to believe this nonsense.
"expect" after "hardly"
She retaliated by sweeping her to her feet
Pretty sure you don't need that first "her"!

And, I would very much have liked Martha in it, but One and Ten were only in it as kind of book-ends and I couldn't. Mind you, I am also very sorry that Peri didn't get to sweep in as Roman lady to rescue Six, but in context it had to be Evelyn. (But the resulting argument would have been quite something...) And I didn't get Ian or Barbara in it, either, you know.

Still we all know I'm unreasonably obsessed.

And, um, I think you may be, just a bit. But in a good way (as Ruth would say)! ;-D

It called for tact and a delicate touch. Thank goodness he was currently enjoying an incarnation that excelled at both. - Oh, Doctor. Not at all.
The Doctor marched towards the interloper. “Curses, I believe I’ve been foiled again. Yes, it’s true, vicar: I’m nothing but a shameless wretch who goes round entrapping unfortunate females into marriage and then running off with their worldly goods, trampling their hearts into the ground as I go. And I’m not in the least bit sorry, either.” - This had me giggling madly! And Charley - YAY. Brilliant all round.

(The second one only because I can just hear Paul McGann saying this with enthusiasm while being completely unconvincing at the same time.) And, yes, yay Charley! ;-)
And I was so not supposed to be writing this one. *sigh*
