Nice things

I was already being overtired and blah blah blah summer, you all know the drill by now, and then as we also all know it was so hot things were on fire, and that was even less fun, but at least that has stopped for now and it is like normal outside even if inside is only more slowly winding itself down from the peak.

Anyway, in the meantime, here are some good things (for me, anyway):

* I woke up this morning to find someone I don't know at all (poweredbuttercup10) has made fanart of my story Red Skies, which I wrote ages ago for calliopes_pen, a little John/Jonathan/Mina Dracula 1968 fic, where the Harkers vamp one fainty doctor. Amazing. <3 (I am laughing at myself a bit though: such a cute little murder scene!!! omg, darlings. <3)

* also lurking_latinist happened to write Like Sunshine Through Rain, making Six/Charley fic just that tiny bit less rare (also it was excellent, yes). <3


Plus, bunn7cula is promising to send me a thing!

And I do at least have a draft of the Just Married fic, but also maybe defaulting would be easier than editing in summer? idk. It is a thing that will definitely be a thing now. Hopefully on time, but eventually, even if I have to wait for a better season, and I am totally being in love with this combination of characters all over again, but I can't talk about that for a month.

My pleasure! They've taken down her ep 1 reaction, but it should reappear at some point, if a bit edited down, fingers crossed, but they've both been fun - she's very unspoiled and loving it so far.

Yeah, I've picked up a few lately, because I discovered if it's a series I love enough, they can be a good thing for when I'm lacking brain, but I generally stick to two specific Classic Who reactors most of the time (one of whom is Marie-Clare) - but I do think her first two B7 reactions have just been great, and of course, it's always an interesting ride to watch someone else go on (even if usually less literally). I hope you enjoy it too! I have a feeling that after B7 she may well do B5. :-)

Ooh, that's definitely one that I love watching people discover :D And while I probably wouldn't watch a full show's worth of reactions, there are definitely episodes and scenes where I think I would enjoy that a lot :D

Before she started doing B7, she did a vote - between B5, B7, and A Very Peculiar Practice, I think it was, and B7 won by about 70%, heh. (CLassic Who fans and B7 fans do tend to coincide...) But she does seem to be planning to do it sometime, and B7 isn't that long to get through, compared to some other things - like B5, heh.

Ah, so annoying that her first B7 reaction got taken down, but I'm glad I was able to watch the second one before something happens to it, too. It's really awesome to see how much she's enjoying it. This time, the line that made me laugh was her saying that she assumes Blake is the leader and that there are going to be seven of them. Yes, you would think that would be a valid description of the entire show, wouldn't you? :)

And unexpected fanart of your fic from people you don't even know is the most incredible feeling ever! That really is adorable work, too.

Yes, although fingers crossed, she's going through the appeal process to get it unblocked, but the BBC get like that a lot with things, even with something as patently not copyright infringement as this. :-/

Yes, and they've got some great little details in there, like Dr Seward's little buttons for rolling up his sleeves and things in there. It is not yet quite on a par with the Bayeux Tapestry illustration someone did me once (<3), but it is such a nice thing, and I have to keep looking at it, going, omg, did that really get caused by a fic what I wrote?

Aw, thank you! And no, it was pineapple, not cheese, although controversially, you can put both or either on pizza! ;-p

I am waiting to see exactly what the nice thing looks like when the postie delivers, but it ought to be! (It involves James Maxwell!)

I hope the worst of summer is over now--it's awful, and even more so when things catch fire! :( But I'm glad you have all these nice things to cheer you up!

It is not the editing so much, as my reduced brainage and time in summer and how I don't sign up for exchanges in summer for GOOD REASONS, except I like to be in denial about that. I have used up so much of the limited energy/time doing this and it's STILL NOT DONE and it's SO LONG and I have a blood test on Monday. So I am a bit thinking maybe I should just let it lie till i have some brain and default on the weekend or something, but it's so near done i'd probably still jsut try anyway because i have no sense. And that is what summer is like, really. It has no patience with my delusions of not being an invalid, unlike the other seasons.

ETA: And then instead of stressing, I went and lay down and then later even managed to finish editing it and send it off for beta! It is posted (because I can edit it all i like till reveals).

so i should stop being quite so melodramatic, ahem, sorry. ♥

No way, it's OK to be melodramatic, and even more so in summer, becuse it's The Worst! Yay for finishing that fic, you're an inspiration!! Maybe I'll also manage to persuade mine into becoming a proper story eventually? XD
