Fic: Til We Meet Again (Don't Make It Anytime Soon)

Story: Til We Meet Again (Don't Make It Anytime Soon)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 2237
Characters/Pairings: Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, Liz Shaw, Doris, Fiona Lethbridge-Stewart, Third Doctor.
Warnings: None. Except for my random speculations about Doris that are totally non-canonical.

Summary: The Brigadier returns to find three women waiting in his office. This is probably the most unlikely thing that's happened at UNIT yet, barring aliens.

[livejournal.com profile] primsong left this idea lying about on [livejournal.com profile] dw_straybunnies and before I knew where I was there was fic before breakfast.

This was amusing - but you have a "now" for a "no" in there...

Dear oh dear, poor Brigadier... loved seeing how you played this out, we know so little about Fiona. (which makes me wonder if anyone has ever developed her further? She isn't in any audios or anything is she?)

I left a comment on Teaspoon, but on further reflection: Is it possible that the Doctor thought it was a good idea because Time Lords have thirteen wives as well as thirteen lives, and it's the custom for them all to meet up with their beau at regular intervals?

(And the converse, of course: Time Ladies would have thirteen husbands. Leading to some truly involved love triskaidecagons.)

Not sure if this is a coherent enough plotbunny, but I might try knocking it into shape and offering it up on your comm.

LOL!

Out of interest, what was the conclusion about Doris that has no foundation in canon or spin-offs? Because I thought your version fitted rather neatly with the Doris of the books (based on Nick Courtney's own speculations, IIRC).
