I've taken part in the last two challenges for iconthat - you make three icons for the comm, but I had trouble narrowing it down, so here are my challenge entries, plus a few extra for each.

Oh, funky. Those blue ones are particularly effective. I suppose it being a black and white film helps, but the blue wash looks really good. I especially like the fifth one, where you've picked out her dress in blue, and the eighth one, where she's on the telephone. Looks almost like the TARDIS telephone!

Thank you! #5 took a lot of work, and it never looked quite finished, no matter how many layers or textures I gave it, but I did like the way the blue dress came out. And the telephone does, although I'm fairly sure it's just a 30s payphone.

Thanks! And, ha, I'm indecisive! I was originally going to do 3 PG for Nostalgia and then couldn't decide, so did Lynda, Seven & Ace instead. But I had the bases for the others done, so I finished them. Bank Holiday I knew what I wanted for 2 and 3, but I couldn't make my mind up for 1 and tried out a lot of different caps.

Icons! This post reminds me that I really need to get icons for this journal, and something almost unrelated that I meant to tell you: I finally got around to watching the first episode of the new DW series, and I immediately started shipping Bill/Ace. This is based 100% on what I've picked up about Ace from your blog, as I've never actually seen an episode with Ace in it. Am I wrong?

Nope, Bill/Ace is clearly a thing that needs to happen, at least in fic. It would be an excellent ship of rightness indeed! :-D

Wow - blast from the past for me growing up with Press Gang - crush on Dexter Fletcher included, and Zoe? was it? from Doctor Who. I'll never forget the old lady cannibals - used to have nightmares about that episode lol.

And, yay, Press Gang! I adored it so much, I was v nervous about getting the DVDs a few years ago, but it was still fab. As to Doctor Who, the companion in the icon in the above set is Ace (aka Sophie Aldred, although Zoe was a great companion, too, from the b&w era) - I wanted to grow up to be either Ace or Lynda, and even if it didn't happen, I have no regrets about my 80s/90s role models! The companion who encountered the old lady cannibals was Mel (aka Bonnie Langford), but they both hung around with Seven.

(I looked at your profile, because Press Gang, and we seem to share some other interests - I don't know if you'd be cool with friending, or if that's a bit rash and we need to hang out on a comm near each other for a bit longer first? What do you reckon? I mostly make fannish stuff, waffle about watching British TV from the 60s & 70s, or reading things, and occasionally grumble about being ill or the fact that people keep nicking my wheelie bin.)
