I've taken part in the last two challenges for iconthat - you make three icons for the comm, but I had trouble narrowing it down, so here are my challenge entries, plus a few extra for each.

I just found this on my hard-drive - I did it a few weeks ago as a writing exercise and forgot about it. (And I'm definitely stretching the definition of a sentence to breaking point in some cases. Heh.) I can't remember where I found the meme - somewhere about.

44 x Sapphire & Steel icons and 53 x Press Gang icons. The S&S icons seem to have been growing slowly on my PC since this time last year, so are a bit of an odd mix. The Press Gang icons were made in the summer, I think and about 20 or so were posted to fan_flashworks for challenges.

Okay, I'm a little startled to be making one of these posts today, because I finally (a week or so back) got round to typing up one that had been in my notebook since April:

...And then decided that barring the two I've been saving on my hardrive to finish with, I would give up the claim, because I'd done all I wanted to with it, and I keep going way over the limit and having to cut back when I do write them. So I can only blame putting together the previous post, and watching an episode for the following. Either that, or I went crazy, of course. A strange thing happened today (and not just that I woke up and realised yesterday I'd posted fic scary enough for Hallowe'en in all the wrong ways) - I found I had written enough ficlets for the 50ficlets challenge to make another update post, for the first time since May. (Although I did write one of these three in July, I suppose.)

I've been so bad about writing (aside from long things, for some reason) lately that I was sadly going to pull out on my last two crossover fics, but then decided to aim for 300 words each and go for it, and stop being so stupid, and lo, there was fic. Well, I'm back and will be catching up with people presently over the next few days (I hope - I was a bit erratic last week with actually keeping up properly even when I was here). Plus, I need to actually watch Saturday's DW at some point (hopefully tomorrow!), as everyone's doing reaction posts all over the place. I may have to hide until then, or write, or something. I had a nice weekend in Somerset seeing all my family. And I do mean ALL of them in this case!!

(I thought I wasn't going to write any, but I got a bit carried away again last night and Friday. I was trying to capture some of the Kenny-Lynda early S2 interaction, and then realised I had also reached Love and the Junior Gazette and got excited, because Kenny falling in love with a wrong number is, I have to confess, my very favourite thing# in the whole of Press Gang. (As Lynda points out a year later: "Kenny, most people don't take this long to get over a wrong number!") Hence three ficlets, mostly hastily written. Erm.

Firstly, I am wearing contact lenses. This is really peculiar, but very exciting. (Although I did think for a bit that the very kind and patient woman at Boots wasn't going to let me have them... because of my initial inability to take them out. I must say I wondered what it would be like putting them in, but hadn't thought about how weird it would be sort of pinching at seemingly non-existent things in your eyes. However, I managed it.)

Secondly, and what I was meaning to say - I've been doing some actual writing!: I finally finished my DW/Angel crossover last night (now up on Teaspoon HERE). I must thank dbskyler who has probably forgotten that she answered my what-should-Peri-sing-at-karaoke question last spring or something - and gave me not only a sensible answer to that but also a fun last line. So: thanks!

Plus, have a random drabble! I've been going back through some of the old dw100 challenges recently and was trying to do one per Doctor for the 004/020 challenge 'crossover'. I did this one and then realised that not only was it obscure (as ever), but it didn't have a Doctor in it, so it didn't count (for my own personal satisfaction, I should add - dw100 are wonderfully non-prescriptive!). So: Tegan Jovanka has a new employee at the famliy cattle feed business who isn't the least bit scared of her bossiness... (I don't know why I keep using The Gathering continuity when sometimes I don't want the audio to exist, but then Tegan's arguments about why she ended up in the business are fun)(DW/Press Gang):
