Thanks again for the 'Allo 'Allo! fic. It was great fun!

You ain't ever gonna make me read Eleven/River, though, even if it's got Eleven/Romana in it.;D

almost because that would mean eleven only likes river Out of curiosity, btw: I remember you saying that your issues with Doctor/Romana had something to do with how it was pushed as canon. Shouldn't you be having issues with Doctor/River, for similar reasons? I mean, it's much more hyped as Real True Canon Love Forever, after all. ;D

''What I'm wondering at the moment is if Clara is in some way fobwatched (or something-ed) Romana...?''

I really, really hope not, 'cause they'll never do shippy Eleven/Romana as long as River's around, and I'd hate to see her be used as yenta to Eleven/River or have her portrayed just as The Ex in order to create wacky 'drama' that'll end up with Romana saying something ''He never looked at me the way he looks at you'' or something equally trite. Sorry, I'm like that. ;D

It's interesting that you don't see her as Eleven's OTP on the show, because I actually agree in that I don't see the romantic love from his side very much at all, and yet the majority of the shippers (that I've seen) seem to find TWofRS to be the most romantic, OTP-ish thing ever, and when the show-runners and reviewers talk about it it's always talked about as ''a love story'' and in very romantic terms, generally. I just have no clue what exactly Moffat is trying to do with the pairing. He seems to either want it both ways or he really does see it as perfectly functional and sweet.

I had no intention of creating any wank here, btw. :) I was just curious because I remembered you saying something about not liking it when things got too OTP-ish, and I feel that we're very much supposed to view Doctor/River that way, even if the execution leaves something to be desired.

Wow, you wrote a lot of things! :D

Your (Eleven)/River/Romana one is cute. I kept trying to figure out if the Doctor was just describing something else entirely and only making it sound like an innuendo, as he might do by accident, ahaha. Poor Rory having to listen to all that. :P

Thanks for writing the Third Doctor/Liz/Brigadier piece. I'd have thanked you earlier, but was offline most of the last several days. I really must get my own wi-fi Internet access set up here, for those times when the neighborhood signal I use goes wonky. Gaaaah.

Oh, and I finished my B7 rewatch last night, and am being hit with a mass of feelings and nostalgia... I miss the messy offline B7 fandom that I knew in the late 1980s/early 1990s, which was so messy that it fell apart in civil war. All those fanzines! Best to leave that behind me, sigh.

However... there was an amazing post-Gauda Prime fanfic saga, Log of the Hellhound, that was insanely controversial in fandom because it was dark and intense and unpleasant and included sexual fracked-upness, but I started reading it and was amazed. I found a web page listing which fanzines the chapters could be found in, and it looks as if the whole last segment (Book Ten) was never done (or not published). Now I'm sad about that. :-/ *whimper*

(ETA: I excavated a box of old B7 zines and found that I had Books One through Eight of Hellhound, so, if Book Nine was the last published... well, I went hunting on eBay and found the zine with Book Nine in it. Should have that soon, I hope. But why couldn't it have ever been finished in all these years, or published online? *sob*)

Ah, well. You at all up to discussing Avon? ETA: I just keep thinking that, yeah, he was a miserable, snarky git, and never wanted to be a leader, really just wanted to take a ship and go live as he pleased -- rich and free, if possible. He was okay while following Blake, I think. Having the responsibility of leadership just... unbalanced him. He didn't want the responsibility, but Tarrant was too young and brash to be good at it, and none of the others wanted it. And he just went more unhinged the more everything went wrong, and it still makes me sad to watch. Again, yes, he was always ambivalemt, and never "good" as such, but a great character. I was hoping I'd be safe this time through, because I had a huge thing for Avon back in the 1980s, but lost much of it due to Darrow's behavior. But no. I was almost managing neutrality, but then came S4, and the end, and I was all "Avon, nooooo" again, and now I want to watch all the Avon-related vids. It's probably a good thing that vids keep hanging up and not playing through on my tablet... frustrating, but probably better for me. Hah.
