"It's always exactly the same and yet completely different, and I love it very much." Absolutely!

I suspect that, as well as William Hartnell, Verity Lambert may have thought that the show would last for more than 13 episodes. On Thursday evening, I enjoyed watching "An Adventure in Space and Time" again after ten years, and hope that it will be repeated again for the seventieth anniversary, and that I'll still be around to see it. One of my few claims to fame is that I watched the very first episode back in 1963 (yes, I'm really that old!). Also on Thursday evening, I watched the shortened, colourised version of "The Daleks", and was pleasantly surprised that I didn't find either of those changes intrusive. The story didn't feel rushed, in fact was still a lot slower-paced than modern Who.
