[community profile] remixrevival has gone live and despite my defaulting, I have a remix written for me in the collection! (I also, despite my defaulting, eventually managed to get my original assignment written, which I was v relieved about. Inspiration has never struck so rapidly and typing up has never been so delayed.)

Anyway, someone has written this for me, which is an expansion of one of my prompt meme ficlets that so happened to have the Delgado Master and Liz Shaw stuck together in the past as pirates. I mean, who didn't want to see the full story behind that one? And now you may!

I Always Wanted To Be A Pirate Queen (The Hungover Remix) (1825 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Doctor Who (1963)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Liz Shaw (Doctor Who), The Master (Delgado)
Additional Tags: Humor
Summary: Trust a Time Lord to get himself and Liz Shaw stranded in the 17th century. Luckily Liz is a woman of wide and varied competence.

I haven't read much else yet, but I really enjoyed the one SJA fic, so I can rec that: No. 36 Bannerman Road.

Anyway, the collection is live and there are 71 fandoms in there, so there should be plenty of other good stuff!

I managed ages ago to write two ficlets, courtesy of the Unconventional Courtship generator, for [personal profile] john_amend_all's birthday which was *mumble mumble* ago. I finally managed one more, so here goes. Crack is probably the only way to deal with rl right now anyway.

Belated happy birthday, John!

You will be so proud of me - I wrote all the prompts! (I mean, one per person, not actually all of them.) I haven't managed that in ages, save for those AU memes.

Anyway, the last four are on AO3, with relevant details under the cut:

My Yuletide letter is finally in a better state and only needing some very minor tweaks. Hurrah! And just in time - sign-ups are now open!

This week I managed two more crossover ficlets for the Crossover Meme (I am aiming to get them all done by the time Yuletide assignments go out; if not, I shall have to write them off):

Well, I am still not back on LJ, so forgive me if I'm ignoring you. (I can see people's comments on my posts via my email, but I have absolutely no way to reply or read anything on LJ until it deigns to let me back in.) If it's not back by this evening, I may need someone to put in a report for me, if anybody's willing, because it's getting silly now. In the meantime:

1. I have started watching Man at the Top (Thames, 1972), and the next two episodes should have James Maxwell in. I knew he was playing somebody called Bernard MacLaine, and throughout this ep, he hasn't appeared but everyone keeps talking about him. Apparently, he's a really mean millionnaire who goes round firing people and closing factories and also is very puritannical. The anti-hero may be going to steal his wife. I await his actual arrival with interest... (I am amused that the other week I watched him being someone called Peter Kane and this week it's Bernard MacLaine. If he plays any more rhyming people, I could write a poem. Simms could probably do an awful limerick.)

(I might have got the day muddled for my blood test, so now I am going on Thursday instead. This bit was entirely my ME muddled-ness, whoops. I usually double-check everything because I know I do things like that. /o\)

2. Also Remix has been revealed in the night! I wrote two fics, one for [personal profile] scripsi in the main collection, and one for Madness, for Redrikki. And I need to thank [personal profile] paranoidangel for her remix of my Ruth/Harry AU, All Russians Are Spies (The Retirement Remix), which I had strongly suspected. (We do have this tendency to get assigned to each other!) It's still awesome if you haven't read it yet.

First up, I remixed parts of Scripsi's A Little Less Than Kin series, which was huge fun to do:

Unrelated (The Loop the Loop to Affinity Remix) (2971 words) by lost_spook
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Doctor Who (2005), Doctor Who (1963)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: The Master (Delgado)/River Song, The Doctor/River Song, The Doctor/The Master (Doctor Who)
Characters: The Master (Delgado), River Song, Missy (Doctor Who)
Additional Tags: Remix, Death, Timey-Wimey
Summary:

It takes time to achieve perfection. Several times, in fact. Both the Master and River Song know this a little too well.

Then, when reading through the sign-ups for Madness, I found a wonderful Ats/Pushing Daisies ficlet that accidentally happy-ending-ed everything. I couldn't resist remixing it (and accidentally ruining things again, because once you start writing AtS-side, as opposed to the pie-and-dead-people side, something has to go wrong.)

Criss-Cross My Heart and Hope To Die (The Lattice-Top Rebake) (1327 words) by lost_spook
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Angel: the Series, Pushing Daisies
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Angel (BtVS), Olive Snook, Ned (Pushing Daisies), Emerson Cod
Additional Tags: Remix, Crossover, Humor, Pie
Summary:

Angel has a seriously weird experience in a pie shop.

So, that was Remix, and I mustn't forget to post the DW to Teaspoon now that I'm free to own it. Otherwise, I am probably mostly proud of my terrible titles, really.

For [livejournal.com profile] the_redjay in the 500 Prompts Meme: 355. It ends tonight - Eleven, the Master (DW). (I don't know what happened. I'm pretty sure when I started writing this it was going to be angsty and not "The Doctor tries to execute the Master: the multi-era comedy" but these things happen. To me, at least. I'm sorry. Ish.) 5. The Master / Roger Delgado (Doctor Who)

Photobucket

"In reminiscent mood, are you, Doctor? Poor Miss Grant, you have my deepest sympathies."

This is a very simple one. I love Roger Delgado as the Master. I have no rhyme or reason for it (although I know I'm far from alone!*) other than that he is quite, quite beautiful in his own way and the first Three-era story I saw was The Sea Devils, which sees him dressing in white, and claiming to be reformed, and watching The Clangers.** ("It seems to be a rather interesting extraterrestrial life-form.") Three himself never had a chance, no matter how many sandwiches he pilfered later on. My heart was irrevocably given to the villain (with a little room left over for the Brigadier). In fact, that bit in The Claws of Axos where the Brigadier and the Master wind up working together? If the Doctor had run away at that point and never come back, I wouldn't have minded. Well, not much. (And, his genuine dismay at what the Doctor has been doing to his TARDIS and the state it's in: "Overweight, underpowered museum-piece... might as well try to fly a second-hand gas stove." And on what the Brigadier might do if there's a nuclear explosion: "You could try the usual precautions... sticky tape on the windows, that sort of thing." ♥)

Some more, and a pretty picture )

Title: Fallen
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating: All ages
Word count: c. 3500
Characters: Charlotte Pollard, The (Delgado) Master

Summary: Charley’s waiting for the Doctor to return, but it isn’t the wrong Doctor she gets, it’s the wrong Time Lord altogether. This can’t end well. (Some spoilers in passing for BFAs Storm Warning and The Girl Who Never Was).

(I should add I've not done anything more than tweak a word or two of a fic all day; I just had stuff written up, hanging about). I got this from a randomiser prompt: Charlotte Pollard/Delgado Master/Fallen through the cracks. I played about with it the other week, trying to get a prompt for a story for [livejournal.com profile] ghost2 and this came up & wouldn't go out of my head.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] clocketpatch for the helpful feedback (in response to my "I've just written this. Am I insane or does it make sense?" plea for help. Heh). And, sorry, I don't think I've changed anything barring an extra paragraph at the end!

Edit: Sorry, please be patient till it's up on the 'Spoon, as ever!

Title This Perilous Grace
Author [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating All Ages
Characters Third Doctor, Jo Grant, the Master
Summary Jo and the Doctor arrive in Camelot - but that was only ever a myth, wasn't it?

I've finally put my [livejournal.com profile] tardis_gen story onto Teaspoon (currently awaiting approval). I'm not sure my extra scene was worth waiting for, but it may at least point in the right direction a bit more. And three parts doesn't sit any more naturally than two, no matter what I do. It wants to stay as one long story, but I think over 12,000 words is a bit off-putting in one go.

I wrote this for [livejournal.com profile] starbells who gave me the prompt of Three, Jo and the Master in Camelot. Leaving me with a lovely prompt (as you'll remember me going on about. Possibly) but needing to somehow get our characters to a place that never existed. Clearly a 'historical' Arthur wasn't what was wanted and Battlefield covered the AU front and I always feel dream stories are such cheats. Therefore I came up with this. And if it hadn't been for it being for a challenge, who knows how long it might have got because, despite my shock at finding myself doing my own take on Arthur, I loved every minute of writing the thing.

Finally, I can finally share my glee at finding the perfect Arthurian alias for the Master: Sir Melegaunce. Isn't it so him?

I shouldn't have waited all this time to find LiveJournal and set up an account.  I've got probably about 50-60 fics between Teaspoon and TTR to go back over...

So, because I've been through quite a lot of them already, I thought I might try and think about a 'top 5'.  (Doing my top 20 of other people's will definitely be fun for another day).  Let's start somewhere...

So:
