1. [community profile] intoabar is open for sign-ups! I need to contemplate who to send into the bar this year - always the tricky bit!

Anyway, it is a great long-running fest where you sign up with a chosen character from one fandom plus a selection of 1-6 other fandoms, and then the mod(s) randomise you a character from one of those fandoms for your character to meet in the bar or bar-equivalent. Hopefully I will make the deadline this year for a change, but I usually manage to do it in amnesty if not, and it's too much of a favourite for me to miss it.

I need to decide whether or not to do what I did last year with particular-character-from-tiny-fandom + my regular fandoms as potential crossovers, OR choose a character from one of the regular go-anywhere fandoms and some smaller fandoms, which I have narrowed down to "fandoms I haven't already used for [community profile] 51pluscrossoverfandoms" because that seems like a sensible plan. I'm leaning to the second at the moment, in which case I miiight do Fifteen, but I'll swear to nothing until the day that sign-ups close.

2. [community profile] tardis_remix went live yesterday with 10 works, and I've very much enjoyed what I've read so far. I haven't quite finished yet.

[personal profile] romanajo123 did a fun little remix one of my old meme ficlets, even though I didn't write anything myself (which I am a little sad about; I adore a Remix, but it was not realistic this time around):

Bedside Manner (The (Im)Patient Peri Remix) (734 words) by human_nature
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Doctor Who, Doctor Who (1963)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Peri Brown & Sixth Doctor
Characters: Sixth Doctor (Doctor Who), Peri Brown
Additional Tags: Remix, POV First Person
Summary: Peri's really not feeling well...

3. [personal profile] edwardianspinsteraunt has also written another lovely The Winslow Boy fic, so it has been a good weekend for nice fannish reading!

Hopeless Causes (9633 words) by edwardianspinsteraunt
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Winslow Boy (1999)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Robert Morton/Catherine Winslow
Characters: Catherine Winslow, Robert Morton (Winslow Boy), Grace Winslow
Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Getting Together, Slow Burn, Developing Relationship, Minor Character Death, Grief/Mourning, Women's Suffrage, Period Typical Attitudes, Emotionally Repressed, Marriage Proposal
Summary: Arthur Winslow dies before Winslow versus Rex can come to court. Sir Robert attempts to help the surviving members of the family and - with rather less success - to prevent his feelings for Miss Winslow from getting the better of him.

I had a blood test last week (just the regular annual one), so most of the week was taken up with recovering from going out for that, although I did quite well in that respect.

Anyway, s2/15/41/whatever trailer just dropped, and I have to say it does look amazing:

Plus, while I don't know if I'll write anything yet, [community profile] tardis_remix is a new Doctor Who & Related Fandoms Remix exchange now started! You can sign up by offering your (Whoniverse) works to be remixed, whether or not you sign up to write and the reverse, or both, of course. I do miss remixes so hopefully this one will be fun!
thisbluespirit: (jonathan creek)
Hello hello I have been feeling rotten again for really the past two weeks. So much for Whumptober! I was whumped, not the characters. Alas. Still, I hope soon I can at least edit the second one I managed before that.

So, sorry, I'm not keeping up again. I begin to wonder if I ever will. :-/

Anyrate, in the meantime, Remix Revival wrapped up and revealed authors yesterday, and I wrote this, from the original version by [personal profile] still_lycoris. I was planning to remix one of their excellent short B7 ficlets but No! They had written this gem and I had no choice but to play with it.

Remants of an Unlife (The Magellan & Creek (Deceased) Remix) (2332 words) by thisbluespirit
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Jonathan Creek (TV)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: Major Character Death
Relationships: Jonathan Creek/Maddy Magellan
Characters: Jonathan Creek, Maddy Magellan, Joey Ross, Carla Borrego, Adam Klaus
Additional Tags: Remix, Ghosts, Alternate Universe, practically a randall & hopkirk au, but not strictly, otherwise jonathan would have to wear a white duffel coat
Summary: When you spend your life going round disproving the paranormal, the last thing you want to do is end up as a ghost. Jonathan isn't exactly sure his friends are helping, either.

It was a looser remix than I've done before in some ways, and it was hard to show that it was AU (i.e. now everything was operating by Randall & Hopkirk rules rather than as in the original), and I'm not sure I succeeded totally in making that clear. But in all other ways, I think it turned out pretty entertaining (& its remixee liked it anyway).

As usual, some lines are taken from the original fic.

So, last night Remix Revival went live, and I got this unexpectedly fabulous remix of a rather silly and punny Seven & Ace drabble I did for [community profile] dw100 many many moons ago. It's delightful and if you enjoy a bit of Seven 'n' Ace, you should definitely go read it.

Also: totally contains a version of Monopoly that should become a proper official thing. XD

Playing to Win (the slightly less cosmic contest remix) (2192 words) by Anonymous

Fandom: Doctor Who (1963)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Seventh Doctor & Ace McShane
Characters: Seventh Doctor, Ace McShane
Additional Tags: Remix Revival 2020, Remix, Games
Summary: They’ve never been especially good at following the rules, anyway.

I am a lucky so-and-so because I was also one of the few people to get a Remix Madness fic as well, remixing an obscure little humorous ficlet I wrote one Obscure & British Fest for The Sandbaggers into this lovely, thoughtful character piece:

Recreated [a remix] (1477 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: The Sandbaggers
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Matthew Peele, Neil Burnside, Sir Geoffrey Wellingham, Original Characters
Additional Tags: Remix, Character Study, POV switch, Mid-Canon
Summary: Matthew Peele knows what people think of him. And, yes, he cares. But maybe not all that much.

I'm still waiting to see what my recip thinks of mine, though...

(I didn't sign up for the Little Black Dress thing in the end, as I felt ill the last few days instead, so that was that. Maybe next time! Anyway, on the cheering front, guess what? Yuletide letters post!! I just need to tweak mine a tiny bit more... \o/)

I am not particularly well (again), but Remix Madness has opened for sign-ups - see here for the details.

There are no eligibility criteria or obligations - if you ever wanted to try doing a Remix, you can look through the prompts to find something with no need to sign up or you can throw your works into the ring with no pressure to write anything and just see what happens.

You can sign up with fic or art and you can designate certain works or fandoms "safe" if you don't want something touched by anyone else, but you can see the rules at the link above.
thisbluespirit: (Default)
[community profile] remixrevival has had its author reveal and now I can own up that I wrote this for [personal profile] ruuger, which I'm sure will surprise no one who knows me.

I got [personal profile] ruuger as my assignment and was keen to remix some of their Twelfth Doctor fic and then re-read Old, New, Borrowed, Blue (in which Thirteen, while dressed as Marilyn Monroe at a party, accidentally marries Eleven) and approximately an hour later, a rough draft of this was in my notebook, because how could I possibly resist cracky accidental marriage fic involving the Doctor? And then summer defeated me and I had to default, being unable to type up so much as a word of it. Luckily, autumn has already been kinder and I got this done post-deadline. I also made reference to Hope is All We Have, which was at least a Twelfth Doctor story.

I Do, I Do, I Do (The Month of Sundays Remix) (4029 words) by thisbluespirit
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Doctor Who (2005), Doctor Who (1963)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Eleventh Doctor/Thirteenth Doctor, Thirteenth Doctor/Twelfth Doctor, Tenth Doctor/Thirteenth Doctor, Thirteenth Doctor/All her former selves
Characters: Thirteenth Doctor, Yasmin Khan, Graham O'Brien, Ryan Sinclair, Eleventh Doctor, Background & Cameo Characters, The Doctor's TARDIS, Third Doctor, Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, Fourth Doctor, Romana II (Doctor Who), Tenth Doctor, Ace McShane, Peri Brown, Bill Potts, Twelfth Doctor
Additional Tags: Remix, Multi-Era, Humor, Drunkenness, Accidental Marriage, Time Travel, Self-cest, Noodle Incidents, Crack
Summary: The TARDIS is malfunctioning and now the Doctor can’t seem to avoid getting drunk and marrying her former selves while dressed as Marilyn Monroe. And that one Hollywood party had seemed like such a good idea at the time...

[community profile] remixrevival has gone live and despite my defaulting, I have a remix written for me in the collection! (I also, despite my defaulting, eventually managed to get my original assignment written, which I was v relieved about. Inspiration has never struck so rapidly and typing up has never been so delayed.)

Anyway, someone has written this for me, which is an expansion of one of my prompt meme ficlets that so happened to have the Delgado Master and Liz Shaw stuck together in the past as pirates. I mean, who didn't want to see the full story behind that one? And now you may!

I Always Wanted To Be A Pirate Queen (The Hungover Remix) (1825 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Doctor Who (1963)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Liz Shaw (Doctor Who), The Master (Delgado)
Additional Tags: Humor
Summary: Trust a Time Lord to get himself and Liz Shaw stranded in the 17th century. Luckily Liz is a woman of wide and varied competence.

I haven't read much else yet, but I really enjoyed the one SJA fic, so I can rec that: No. 36 Bannerman Road.

Anyway, the collection is live and there are 71 fandoms in there, so there should be plenty of other good stuff!

I may not be around so much, but everyone else suddenly seems really busy...

* [community profile] intoabar has finally reappeared... in summer when it's no use at all! But it's fun, and I can recommend signing up if you like a fun crossover challenge.

* [community profile] remixrevival has opened for sign-ups! Remix is my one summer thing I do, as it usually works out, and I love Remix too much not to try. I'll wait till nearer the 20th to do it, though, just in case the weather is awkward, and see how I am. (There's such a fascination with trying to pull out something from the bones of someone else's fic to play with, and seeing someone else give your own fic that same attention and pull unexpected things out of it. Sort of terribly navel-gazey, I suppose, but great fun and there's usually some amazing fic.)

* There's a mid-year equivalent of the Snowflake Challenge going on - the [community profile] sunshine_challenge, with a challenge every other day (starting yesterday).

* [community profile] trope_bingo has opened for its latest round, too.

* Plus, [community profile] tardis_library is having a reccing bingo.
thisbluespirit: (ouat)
I still feel rotten, but [community profile] remixrevival is properly finished now, as Remix Madness has also been revealed, and I can now also admit to managing this last minute remix for [personal profile] astrogirl:

Stuck in the Middle With You (The Apple for the Teacher Remix) (1918 words) by lost_spook
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Once Upon a Time (TV)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Evil Queen | Regina Mills & Snow White | Mary Margaret Blanchard
Characters: Evil Queen | Regina Mills, Snow White | Mary Margaret Blanchard
Additional Tags: Remix, Locked In
Summary: "An hour, trapped in a closet with you? It might as well be eternity."

Remixed from Trapped Here With You by AstroGirl, which had Regina and Mary Margaret getting locked in a closet together while under the original curse. I nearly wasn't well enough to manage it, and wound up writing it pretty much all on the day of reveals, but it was fun to do, especially since I'm rewatching currently and Snow & Regina and their tangled relationship is definitely one of my favourite things about the series.
thisbluespirit: (blake's 7)
[community profile] remixrevival has now revealed the authors for the main collection, so I can now own up that this was my effort, though I doubt it'll come as too much of shock to anyone who read it and knows me!

Autumn Mourning (The Falling Leaves and Elephants Remix) (4329 words) by lost_spook
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Blake's 7, Doctor Who (2005)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: Major Character Death
Relationships: Orac & The Doctor's TARDIS, Kerr Avon/Orac, The Doctor/The Doctor's TARDIS
Characters: Orac (Blake's 7), The Doctor's TARDIS, Kerr Avon, Vila Restal, Dayna Mellanby, Soolin (Blake's 7), Del Tarrant
Additional Tags: Remix, Artificial Intelligence, Computers, Canonical Character Death, Post-Canon, Post-Gauda Prime, Jokes
Summary: Orac has data to share with the TARDIS. The TARDIS reads more than Orac knows or wishes – about its humans, its sad state, and its non-existent electric heart.

From Grieved It on its Way by [personal profile] still_lycoris. My remix is thoroughly spoilery for Blake's 7 in multiple ways (should anyone Doctor Who side be interested).

The first fic I read when looking for what to remix was this one, and it was so obviously the one I was going to have to remix, I was almost affronted. Anyway, the original is a lovely/sad post-canon crossover about Orac and the TARDIS, with Orac sending files to the TARDIS, so I could switch it to the TARDIS's end and explore the files she receives. Plus, there's an old joke about elephants and trees.

With thanks to [personal profile] aralias who beta-ed the original, and who asked the important question: where was Gan? (Whoops. Sorry, Gan!)
thisbluespirit: (doctor who)
So [community profile] remixrevival has gone live, with lots of good stuff in the collection. (I enjoyed all the DW stuff, really.)

And as for the remix written for one of my stories... someone took one of my AU snippets from the meme and wrote it out in full. The one where Donna becomes a soap dispenser, for reasons, no less. It was a pretty unexpected choice, and I laughed a lot, so thanks, anonymous remixer, for that!

Good Clean Fun (1020 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Doctor Who (2005)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Tenth Doctor, Donna Noble
Additional Tags: Shapeshifting, Banter
Summary: The Doctor takes Donna to visit shapeshifters. She seizes the opportunity.

(It does go to underline how hard it is to make the DW snippets actually AU when I do that meme, because this works just fine as an adventure when expanded out! I mean, a really cracky one, but in no way necessarily AU. I mean, I realise that's probably my fault, but I prefer to blame DW for being the way it is.)
thisbluespirit: (dw - bill)
The main Remix collection was revealed today, so I can admit that I wrote:

Coffee and Crumbs (The Idiot in the Attic Remix) (2145 words) by lost_spook
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Doctor Who (2005), Sarah Jane Adventures
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Twelfth Doctor & Sarah Jane Smith
Characters: Sky Smith, Twelfth Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith, Mr Smith (Sarah Jane Adventures)
Additional Tags: Remix, remixrevival, Post-Episode: s08e01 Deep Breath, Episode: 2013 Xmas The Time of the Doctor
Summary: The Doctor always returns to Bannerman Road at the important moments. It's the timing that's so hard to get right...

It's a remix of [personal profile] paranoidangel's Tea and Biscuits, because we just can't avoid each other in these things! Anyway, it was fun and I had plenty of options to choose from, but my heart wanted this one. I'd actually beta-ed Tea and Biscuits (and it was a gift fic for [personal profile] dbskyler, too), which is a little odd, but so far in my remixing, I've always gone for stories I've loved and that's what drew me to T&B quite quickly. I'm not sure what the key is (I'm sure you could remix almost anything with a bit of work and inspiration), but certainly a story that speaks to me, one I can say something in response to is maybe what that sudden, "That's the one!" spark is. Anyway, this was fun. I was little worried about effectively switching Eleven for Twelve, because it borders on going too far - but on the other hand, the Doctor is the Doctor, and I know Paranoidangel doesn't have an aversion to any of them. (Well, as far as I know!)

And I see that I have [personal profile] estirose to thank for the remix of my Dungeons & Dragons fic! (Madness is still unrevealed, although I do have a suspicion...)
thisbluespirit: (writing)
[community profile] remixrevival went live yesterday, and Remix Madness today and I had a remixed fic in each! (I didn't until late yesterday, though; only my regular Remix and then I poked at Madness and was startled to see that it had a Chalet School/DW crossover involving Miss Annersley and Seven, because it seemed extremely unlikely that someone else as well as me had done that, and they hadn't. It had just been slipped in while I wasn't looking!)

Anyway, in unexpected Remixes, my official Remix fic is a reworking of my old NYR 2009 Dungeons & Dragons fic, via a clever device:

Among the Shattered Tales (The girl once helped remix) (1235 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Dungeons and Dragons (Cartoon)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Sheila "the Thief", Hank "the Ranger", Original Female Character(s)
Additional Tags: Implied Sheila/Hank
Summary: She has many stories, but for some reason a lot of people like this one.

And in my even more unexpected Remix from Madness, I have this really lovely little reversed-POV version of Each A Glimpse and Gone Forever in which Seven turns up on a train in time to help out a young and grieving not-yet-Miss Annersley; all the more pleasing because the original is an odd little piece I have a lot of fondness for:

In The Wink Of An Eye (Each A Glimpse, And Gone Forever Remix) (819 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Chalet School - Elinor M. Brent-Dyer, Doctor Who
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Hilda Annersley, Seventh Doctor
Additional Tags: Remix
Summary: On the worst train journey of her young life, Hilda Annersley meets a kind - if unusual - stranger.

I see Madness doesn't actually close till the 25th, so maybe I should have another go, but for that I might need brain and mine got used up today dealing with insurance renewal, blah blah blah. (In the usual nature of these things, the simple thing is complicated by technology being disobliging because OF COURSE and is still only part done. Probably.)

Still, I am rewatching The Shadow of the Tower, so that keeps me reasonably happy. (I even dreamt the other night that James Maxwell held my hand for a moment. He was a fleeting sort of time ghost, part of a performance that had slipped through time to where I was lying, which apparently kept my pesky inner dream monitor from spoiling things with the usual "well, that isn't v realistic, we can't have this, and WHY ARE THERE BEES/isn't he dead etc. etc." Bees = totally implausible. Timeslip ghosts = perfectly natural and believable.)
thisbluespirit: (writing)
Excuse me being spammy today but [community profile] remixrevival has opened up its Madness round early, and it's even more free-for-all than the original version! Go here to throw your hat into the ring.

You can write remixes for it without signing up and you can sign up (offer your fic to be remixed) without writing anything. You can include previous remixes, collaborations, and WIPs and there are art options too, as many safe works as you want, and no eligibility besides "you have one fic in this fandom." So, go on over and offer your fic/art up for people to remix! Or have fun and remix something yourself.

Now I should go off and see about typing up my actual assignment before I go look, because, yay, Remix Madness! \o/

(I do enjoy Remix, sorry; you can probably tell. I suppose it's kind of like the ultimate fic-conversation you can have with someone, in some ways, and it's always pretty fun and fascinating. And you're not writing a gift for someone, so it's different than most exchanges.)

Remix!

If there's one thing I'll risk signing up for, even in summer, and even verging on Yuletide, it's Remix! And someone has set up a replacement for the much-lamented RemixRedux at [community profile] remixrevival and sign ups are open at AO3 from now until the 30th. If you're also into remixing, or want to be, head over there now!

This version also allows art/art remixes (and art/fic, fic/art remixes) if that would interest you more than writing. (I went for fic/fic; I love the whole thing of writing remixes and being remixed in writing.) It seems to allow origfic as well, and there will still be a Remix Madness collection, when anyone can throw their works into the ring without signing up, which is about as low pressure you can get in a writing exchange. :-)

For [personal profile] a_phoenixdragon in the Fic Commentary Meme, who asked for a commentary on Unrelated (The Loop the Loop to Affinity Remix)

This was a Remix fic, so a lot of it is in reaction to the original fic, in this case [personal profile] scripsi's Sliding Down the Razorblades of Life and other parts of her River/Master series. Doing a Remix is always a slightly different process to other writing - you're responding to someone else's work, so my first move is to skim through my assigned remixee's work to see what jumps out at me. And then, I don't know, I read and read that until something comes. I hesitated over this because to remix something that was part of a series possibly made things a little more complicated than was wise.

Unrelated fic commentary )
thisbluespirit: (spooks - Ruth!)
Well, I am still not back on LJ, so forgive me if I'm ignoring you. (I can see people's comments on my posts via my email, but I have absolutely no way to reply or read anything on LJ until it deigns to let me back in.) If it's not back by this evening, I may need someone to put in a report for me, if anybody's willing, because it's getting silly now. In the meantime:

1. I have started watching Man at the Top (Thames, 1972), and the next two episodes should have James Maxwell in. I knew he was playing somebody called Bernard MacLaine, and throughout this ep, he hasn't appeared but everyone keeps talking about him. Apparently, he's a really mean millionnaire who goes round firing people and closing factories and also is very puritannical. The anti-hero may be going to steal his wife. I await his actual arrival with interest... (I am amused that the other week I watched him being someone called Peter Kane and this week it's Bernard MacLaine. If he plays any more rhyming people, I could write a poem. Simms could probably do an awful limerick.)

(I might have got the day muddled for my blood test, so now I am going on Thursday instead. This bit was entirely my ME muddled-ness, whoops. I usually double-check everything because I know I do things like that. /o\)

2. Also Remix has been revealed in the night! I wrote two fics, one for [personal profile] scripsi in the main collection, and one for Madness, for Redrikki. And I need to thank [personal profile] paranoidangel for her remix of my Ruth/Harry AU, All Russians Are Spies (The Retirement Remix), which I had strongly suspected. (We do have this tendency to get assigned to each other!) It's still awesome if you haven't read it yet.

First up, I remixed parts of Scripsi's A Little Less Than Kin series, which was huge fun to do:

Unrelated (The Loop the Loop to Affinity Remix) (2971 words) by lost_spook
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Doctor Who (2005), Doctor Who (1963)
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: The Master (Delgado)/River Song, The Doctor/River Song, The Doctor/The Master (Doctor Who)
Characters: The Master (Delgado), River Song, Missy (Doctor Who)
Additional Tags: Remix, Death, Timey-Wimey
Summary:

It takes time to achieve perfection. Several times, in fact. Both the Master and River Song know this a little too well.

Then, when reading through the sign-ups for Madness, I found a wonderful Ats/Pushing Daisies ficlet that accidentally happy-ending-ed everything. I couldn't resist remixing it (and accidentally ruining things again, because once you start writing AtS-side, as opposed to the pie-and-dead-people side, something has to go wrong.)

Criss-Cross My Heart and Hope To Die (The Lattice-Top Rebake) (1327 words) by lost_spook
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Angel: the Series, Pushing Daisies
Rating: General Audiences

Characters: Angel (BtVS), Olive Snook, Ned (Pushing Daisies), Emerson Cod
Additional Tags: Remix, Crossover, Humor, Pie
Summary:

Angel has a seriously weird experience in a pie shop.

So, that was Remix, and I mustn't forget to post the DW to Teaspoon now that I'm free to own it. Otherwise, I am probably mostly proud of my terrible titles, really.
thisbluespirit: (spooks - Ruth!)
1. I had a bad few days for various reasons, and, as ever, I tend to slip up on LJ when that happens. I'm caught up again, but apologies if I missed things. Today feels a little better at least! (Nothing terrible happened, but I went very low & technology failed on me at some points - if anyone knows of a good alternative to the VLC-player that isn't either madly fiddly & thus slow or also affected by this aspect ratio bug re. screencaps, I would be happy to hear about it. The only reason I have VLC Player is for screencapping. I do have another program that does it, but it's fiddly & stupid in many ways so I only use it when I'm forced. Also my little TV/DVD player broke yesterday, which is almost in the terrible category. I feel ridiculous that one person should need two TVs, but getting rid of the proper one downstairs would be silly & unhelpful and I can't quite get by yet without my little one to hand for the lowest days when downstairs is too much to handle. :-/)

2. Naturally, in the middle of this (well, prior to the TV-demise), I applied my usual solution of watching old TV with favourite actors and reached the episode of Hadleigh that starred James Maxwell. Hadleigh is not a show that goes in for villains, but they made an exception for James Maxwell. However, it was a nice role and nobody attached anything to his face whatsoever, so overall that was a win. I'll do a picspam and waffle more about that sometime. (Obviously I braved my annoying program to cap that one. But. Argh.) (I was meant to be watching the previous episode, but it was by the same person who kept writing about people wanting to impregnate everybody in Survivors and I promised myself that if he wrote one word about pregnancy, I was skipping to James Maxwell. I thought that was a joke, but the episode was about someone thinking she was pregnant. Dear God, all these 70s writers with weird obsessions that people keep letting them write...! /o\ I skipped to James Maxwell and was very happy to do so. Even if he was villainous.)

3. Anyway, nice things! Remix Redux went live this morning last night* & I had the lovely surprise of discovering that someone had remixed my Spooks ficlet where Ruth and Harry live happily ever after running a bookshop in Devon. So now there is more Ruth/Harry/Bookshop/can't stop being spies ever fic in the world & I rec it heartily to anyone who knows Spooks:

(I've read/looked at a few other fics, too, and I think I might have guessed at least three authors in the process, but I have some reading to do later on when I might be properly awake. Remix Madness won't go live until probably actually tomorrow for me).

4. Working on an hc_bingo square still, though! Should be done soon! (I mean, that square, not the card, or even a row yet, obv.)

The reveals for Remix Redux 11 have happened, so I can now officially credit AstroGirl with writing the lovely remix of my Belle & Rumple OUaT drabble. And I had the exciting (and slightly terrifying) privilege of getting to remix one of Livii's fics, which is this:

Light to Travel By (The Waves of Time Remix) (1296 words) by lost_spook
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Doctor Who (1963), Doctor Who (2005)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: First Doctor, Ninth Doctor, Second Doctor, The Doctor's TARDIS
Additional Tags: Remix
Summary:

With many thanks to [personal profile] aralias for beta-ing (and saying what needed to be said to make it a fic and not merely a remix ♥). So, my first remix... that was very nice all round, really. (I'll add the fic to Teaspoon presently.)

(And now I'll get back to splattering commentfest banners about the joint. Also, I managed to achieve fic earlier, so \o/ Probably time to go collapse now...)

I took part in Remix Redux for the first time this year, so I woke up this morning to find a lovely remix of (unexpectedly) the one Once Upon a Time drabble I'd written (some lovely perilous thing a gift for [profile] ramasi in [community profile] fandom_stocking).

Anyway, it's really lovely and takes a drabble I wouldn't have said had anything more in it, and expands beautifully on the original point. It's great (and not spoilery beyond Belle's first episode in S1):
