space_swap has just revealed authors, so I can now share what I wrote. This one was for

anr, whose prompts included "Padme and Obi-Wan run away with the kids and raise them together on some decrepit old star freighter that breaks down every other day" and so I wrote this. Which was (despite being too long for my current levels of energy) a very comforting and cathartic thing to be writing. And in the end, I was really very pleased with it.

(The only thing I wasn't happy with was the summary. I changed it four times, but everything else was worse than the original. Which was one of the nearly-titles, but I wound up taking it from this song.)

It was a fun fest, I really enjoyed everything I read or looked at that I knew, even though it was so tiny - Voyager, B5, Star Wars, Doctor Who etc.

space_swap has gone live! I haven't had the chance to read round the rest yet (41 fanworks in space fandoms, for anyone else that would interest XD), but I have read my two lovely gifts.

They are both for my request for Qui-Gon/Shmi, which is (understandably) a very rare ship, so that is a treat in itself, and they are both different - one (which I assume must be my gift proper) starting an intriguing and more hopeful AU and another (a treat!) that steals something rather beautiful into the corners of canon.

hc_bingo are doing their March Amnesty recs challenge again, which means I get a strip and make of rec list of at least 15 fanworks (using any one or more of the squares):

That's a lot easier than the set I had last year, I think. If nothing else, I must have some Spooks stuff bookmarked for loss of identity, among other things. I do enjoy doing this one and always wind up reading unexpected stuff for it!

2. I also think I've finally got my belated

yuletide assignment done. I need to edit it once more and get it betaed, and then I can post to the NYR collection. \o/

3. My

space_swap assignment seems pretty nice, too, so fingers crossed for that - especially as I am going to try to sign up for

hurtcomfortex too. (The sign-ups are close, but

hurtcomfortex is due a whole month after

space_swap, and oddly, that might actually be less stressful than just having one exchange going with such a long writing period.)

Thank you for making something for me! This is my first time doing this exchange and I'm excited to be here. I've never yet managed to write a really concise letter, so tl;dr: I love all kinds of things, I love these fandoms/characters/pairings, and as long as you don't write my few hard DNWs, I I'm bound to love whatever you come up with. Prompts are intended purely for inspiration, not to restrict your choices. Take what's useful and leave what isn't, and I hope you have fun.
