I started this on 27th Feb 2021 for

100fandomicons and have finally completed it, after taking longer than anybody else ever has, which I suppose is one claim to fame. (You can see the fandoms if you hover over the icons.)

Part the Second! Yuletide truly is a bottomless marvel. I have never yet read through everything I wanted to in any year, or caught up on past years. (I should also note that I've been rather arbitrary in what I read for fandoms with several works, so these recs are not to say that the other works are not worth checking out!)

I'm back! I'm very tired, so comments and posts will wait/be erratic until I'm not. In the meantime, I'm trying to get some Yuletide recs up before Reveal. I carefully bookmarked on AO3 as I read while away, so hopefully this should be a quiet, simple thing to do?

It's a fairly random first pass of the archive. I tend to read shorter fics, and also have a terrible habit (faced with the chocolate box that is Yuletide) of reading only one or two fics out of a fandom with several in it before skipping to the next shiny thing, but still, an overview of some things I've particularly enjoyed so far, in the hopes that others might enjoy them too:

ramasi requested: Book-to-movie (or tv) adaptations you like? (Or didn't like, if you feel like ranting).

My first thought was that this was a very nice question, the second that this could be a very long post if I'm not careful. So I made myself choose 5 favourites, setting myself a rough guideline for inclusion - something along the lines of "it needs to be something I've watched at least twice and should be where I read the book first". (And then promptly broke that rule with my first choice, as you do.) (The pics in this post, btw, are my screencaps, excepting those for the first two, which I stole from Google.)

My NaArMaMo progress:

As you might have noticed from some previous posts, any gaps are where I did non-icon entries (and also my Big Finish icons, which I am saving for a proper post), and that's why it's a two-week update. Anyway, in these two weeks, I learnt how to use my scanner a bit more, made two texture sets and found out what some of the brushes on my image program actually do. (Yes, they can add sparkles!) Plus, I have admired some far more impressive art at

naarmamo daily.
