I'm just feeling rotten again, sorry (again, again, again) but more importantly, this passed my tumblr dash and cheered me up. The latest Classic Who blu-ray release is S8 - and so it also now has an amazing trailer too (tho' not quite as good as the one with Ace obv. ;-p) and it made me squeak happily anyway:

XD

ETA: Oh, I'm not keeping up at all - look Jo and Cliff already had a mini-adventure a year and more ago as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WBpPWy7jB8

For reasons, I find myself very short of brain again (replies to posts and comments coming whenever as a result) but I also found I'd completed two 500 Prompts ficlets a few weeks ago, so here's one of them. You might even get the other later, too...

Title: The Last Time
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating: All ages

Okay, so for everyone who said I should definitely finish off #1 when I did the WIP meme the other day, here it is:

Police Boxes Don’t Just Vanish, Do They? (4748 words) by lost_spook
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Doctor Who (1963), Public Eye (TV)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright, Third Doctor, Jo Grant, Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, Frank Marker
Additional Tags: Crossover, POV Outsider, POV First Person, Private Investigators
Summary: For one private detective, missing persons cases and inexplicable vanishing police boxes seem to go together

Also here on Teaspoon.

I hope people aren't too be put off by the obscure crossover - I was making use of Public Eye to do an Outsider POV for Doctor Who. (I kind of hope no one who actually knows Public Eye reads it, really. Bit of a nerve to go round attempting writing Frank Marker POV on this short acquaintance, but I thought it'd work rather nicely from the Doctor Who angle. They intersect quite naturally, but come from two very different viewpoints. /o\)

(I wanted to add in a section where someone from Polly's family employs Marker to buy off this random sailor she's moved in with, but realised he'd be in Birmingham by that point, so it was a bit hard to come up with any realistic reason why that would happen. Life is so hard at times... Still, it wouldn't have actually involved a police box, so maybe it's all for the best.)

Title: Literary Blackmail
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 684
Characters/Pairings: Jo Grant, The (Delgado) Master
Notes/Warnings: None.
Summary: If Jo’s going to work with the Master, she knows it needs to be on her terms, not his. This is bad news for the Master.

So, fic happened for the 500 Prompts:

Title: Jo Grant, Assassin For Hire
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 1146
Characters/Pairings: Jo Grant, the Brigadier, Third Doctor.
Notes/Warnings: AU. Frequent, frivolous refs to death and murder.
Summary: A girl’s got to keep herself in platform boots and plastic daffodils, after all.

For [personal profile] john_amend_all's prompt in the 500 Prompts Meme – #258. Assassin For Hire (Jo Grant).

From [livejournal.com profile] pitry One of our "recast Eleven episodes as classical Doctors" ideas! (The likelihood of me actually writing an epic Pertwee six-parter version of ‘Victory of the Daleks’ gets ever less, so have a very silly ficlet of a prologue for it instead).

Title: Victory Prelude
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 531
Characters/Pairings: Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, Third Doctor, Jo Grant
Notes/Warnings: AU UNIT-era version of Victory of the Daleks.

Summary: The Brigadier isn’t impressed by the Doctor’s latest reason for absconding from UNIT.

Victory Prelude )
thisbluespirit: (Janeway laptop)
Title: Five Times the Doctor Got in the Way of Captain Janeway (and One Time They Got Along Just Fine)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Word Count: 5444
Rating: All ages
Characters/Pairings: Eleventh Doctor, First Doctor, Vicki, Third Doctor, Jo Grant, Ninth Doctor, Eighth Doctor, Charley Pollard, Kathryn Janeway, Chakotay, Tom Paris, Tuvok
Summary: Captain Janeway doesn't think much of time travellers and higher beings who turn up on board her ship. The Doctor doesn't take much notice of prime directives. It's a tea vs coffee thing.

I wrote this for the [livejournal.com profile] dw_straybunnies October Prompt of the Month. I don't know whether it's more ridiculous that I randomly picked my own prompt, that I ended up writing for it, that I was right up against the deadline, or that I didn't even exactly keep to the prompt. (It was just I had a sudden, entertaining vision of if lots of people wrote the prompt and Janeway was repeatedly confronted by versions of the Doctor lecturing her on time travel, and then there was a plot bunny bounding about...)

Anyway, I'm always happy to wind up writing multi-era nonsense. Already on Teaspoon (I was literally fighting the deadline last night - no time for LJ posts... Or watching Downton Abbey, darn the thing. Will be watching that very shortly!)

Title Ego Clash
Author [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating All ages
Word Count 567
Characters Third Doctor, Jo Grant, Hercule Poirot
Warnings None

One of my [livejournal.com profile] dw100 drabbles got a bit out of hand last weekend. So I ended up with this little bit of nonsense. "My purpose is to amuse, simply to amuse!" With some reflection on moustaches.

As usual, wait for okaying onto Teaspoon.
thisbluespirit: (brigadier)
Title This Perilous Grace
Author [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Rating All Ages
Characters Third Doctor, Jo Grant, the Master
Summary Jo and the Doctor arrive in Camelot - but that was only ever a myth, wasn't it?

I've finally put my [livejournal.com profile] tardis_gen story onto Teaspoon (currently awaiting approval). I'm not sure my extra scene was worth waiting for, but it may at least point in the right direction a bit more. And three parts doesn't sit any more naturally than two, no matter what I do. It wants to stay as one long story, but I think over 12,000 words is a bit off-putting in one go.

I wrote this for [livejournal.com profile] starbells who gave me the prompt of Three, Jo and the Master in Camelot. Leaving me with a lovely prompt (as you'll remember me going on about. Possibly) but needing to somehow get our characters to a place that never existed. Clearly a 'historical' Arthur wasn't what was wanted and Battlefield covered the AU front and I always feel dream stories are such cheats. Therefore I came up with this. And if it hadn't been for it being for a challenge, who knows how long it might have got because, despite my shock at finding myself doing my own take on Arthur, I loved every minute of writing the thing.

Finally, I can finally share my glee at finding the perfect Arthurian alias for the Master: Sir Melegaunce. Isn't it so him?

Home?

I shouldn't have waited all this time to find LiveJournal and set up an account.  I've got probably about 50-60 fics between Teaspoon and TTR to go back over...

So, because I've been through quite a lot of them already, I thought I might try and think about a 'top 5'.  (Doing my top 20 of other people's will definitely be fun for another day).  Let's start somewhere...

So:
