Also while wrangling, we had Dracula 2020 tags overflowing into top tag, which is entirely unsurprising, but what was not what I expected was the fact that they were all from The Archers (because apparently the village ghost night was getting real that one time). So I wound up wrangling The Archers instead. /baffled but amused at fandom

1. I had another look at the eligibility criteria for the current

hc_bingo challenge and realised that S&S is too big and now I don't know what to do, frankly. Oh, well, at least there are no penalties.

2. I've been continuing to work on making a Genderswap recs list for

genprompt_bingo (my idea I thought of turned out to also fit the next door as-yet-unfilled "Conficting Oaths/Obligations" square, so that worked out fine) and it's more or less done, though I need to check it again, but I felt the need to share with everyone here that when I was going through the tag on AO3, I came across a genderswapped Romeo & Juliet fic where they'd been renamed as Giulio... and Romana.

This classic Who fan immediately cannot picture that going anything like the original. (I didn't read it; it could only have disappointed after imagining Four and Romana doing R&J for TTR Storytime or something.)

3. You may recall that I currently wrangle The White Queen on AO3, which led to me wrangling The White Princess and having to watch ~~almost the entire damned thing~~ it. (I keep thinking I should say it wasn't that bad, but the thing is, it really was. I still find gifsets painful just because of the costumes. I mean, there's inaccurate but for reasons, and inaccurate but pretty (which is a reason) and then there's just... The White Princess. And it was so bad it should have been so much fun, I still want to try and pretend in my head it was. Still, at least the Henry/Elizabeth modern AUs are great.)

Anyway, the reason I mention this is because Starz have NO MERCY and have now made Philippa Gregory's next book, The Spanish Princess, and a brief gifset that crossed my path has left me boggling already because what even is that? (Yes, that is Elizabeth of York and Catherine of Aragon because GOD ONLY KNOWS. Luckily it's a close up so you needn't worry about costumes. Yet.)

The thing is, based on my previous experience, I probably will end watching at least some of this for wrangling purposes. *weeps* WHYYYY. Unless, of course, The Tudors wrangler bites the bullet for me. It could go either way...

(Hmm, I wonder if Margaret Beaufort will murder Arthur and Elizabeth of York as well? Can anyone die and not be murdered by Margaret Beaufort, that well known 15th C serial killer?*)

One of the fannish things I do is being a tag wrangler on AO3, which varies from fun to stressful, but is always very interesting. I wrangle a bunch of small fandoms but have wound up also wrangling a bunch of (mostly historical) RPF, and, indeed, interesting is the word.

Some people complain if their comments are all replies from authors. That is fine by me! It's much better than waking up to find your comments are you because you wrangled something wrong, have been sent half a dozen people from Hamilton, or Donald Trump's in another unlikely relationship again. (Luckily, I can usually leave that to 21st C Political to deal with. I think maybe the most improbable so far has been Donald Trump/Sonic the Hedgehog, but I couldn't swear to it.)

In short, this morning, in my AO3 inbox:

Sometimes it is just too early in the morning for that kind of thing.

I'm not sure why it was abandoned & left unfinished; I probably was feeling stupid having made another terrible mistake while wrangling and buried it, but it is here. It is fairly accurate about tag-wrangling:
