Beyond the Roundels

1. Calufrax is back in action and in need of more reccers! It seems to be harder and harder to poke a response out of readers these days, but it's still always fun & worthwhile.


2. Belated, but usuallyhats made a wonderful multifandom vid about the women of SF for Vidukon - her vidpost is here where you can tell her how awesome it is and see the list of fandoms etc.. ( embed )


3. Following up on the return of King Arthur in the wake of the EU Referendum result, here's one where Lord Vetinari takes over. (Yeah, we continue in limbo; none of the options ahead look good, but hey ho. Have a joke article.)


4. Also very belated - a fab Adam Adamant Lives! fic by swordznsorcery which was for fandom_stocking for me and Liadt, and now up on AO3. (Swordznsorcery has now uploaded some of their other fic too and is worth checking out, especially if you like various old telly fandoms like Blake's 7 and Doctor Who etc.):

I feel sure there were some other fannish things that built up between my op and all the national upheaval, so apologies if I've missed something, but in the meantime, these are all shiny things!

I've literally just recced, so I can't do much more myself just now, but it is worthwhile & it's usually fun.

It's not scary - everything you need, including the posting template is there in the sign-up post. calufrax gets boosted on to Tumblr and other places, too & non-LJ users can rec as well.

(I don't do much signal boosting and I know most people round here follow the comm anyway... but it's calufrax, people, I have to try.)

It's also apparently a big anniversary for some TV show or another, but I don't know about that. I'm not using up all my energy spamming people flists with teeny tiny calufrax recs. Obviously. ;-)

Reccing on calufrax always makes me waffle about it, but if I have not made this clear in passing in previous posts, it is now very short of reccers. I know that most of my flist are one of the merry few remaining/not DW fans/don't read the fic/or really don't want to do it. However, curuchamion was inspired to start a saignal boost post. (dbskyler and aralias have done one each, too, and cersia5 some Calufrax icons.)

Even if you come into any/all of the above categories, if you do enjoy getting daily recs, it would be very nice of you to pass the signal boost on, please. People probably have just not realised that reccers have got so few the comm is going to go bi-weekly.

I may mention how my week went, but I promise to keep quite on the subject again now. It is just that I like my daily rec - so many fics I would never have found otherwise, oh my! - I enjoy reccing, and it is always such a thrill if I am lucky enough to be recced.
