[personal profile] swordznsorcery, who is very kind, giffed the bit where the Brigadier walked in and hugged Inspector Kate! And here it is:

Cut for Brigly hugging of lady police inspectors in the 1980s )

(I am writing/editing stuff, so there will be something here soon that has nothing to do with Juliet Bravo, I promise. I just did not expect the Brig. Nobody expects the Brig! ;-D)

It's amazing what grows slowly on your hard-drive, like some sort of 70s DW themed invasion of pixels... And maybe count it as my tribute to Nicholas Courtney and Elisabeth Sladen. And belatedly to Barry Letts.

Various links to things that have pleased me over the last day or two:

(And, yes, one of these links actually does combine both, so there!)

[livejournal.com profile] dbskyler has a post of fanvid recs for Brigadier/Nicholas Courtney tributes. This is a good thing. (Almost all my flist are friends with each other these days, but there may be some who aren't, so the link is here in case.)

There's finally a new prompt up at [livejournal.com profile] dw_straybunnies. It is of course Brigadier-related. (How could it not be?)

[livejournal.com profile] b7friday had last week's prompt as Sarkoff in tribute to a memorable one-off character played by T P McKenna (who has also passed away of late) and following the news about Nicholas Courtney, [livejournal.com profile] kalypso_v saw fit to write this ficlet. (All ages, 400 words.) All you need to know is re B7 is that this is in the future. Sarkoff is an anti-Federation President with an interest in Earth history. The Federation are nasty. As usual, in B7, the good guys are losing, but wait... Who's this? (ETA: I didn't properly explain that it is lovely, and made me smile very, very much.)

Also I found, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] aelfgyfu_mead this comparison chart for Star Trek and Blake's 7

It is so true, it made me grin rather a lot. (Although I think these days Janeway would probably question 8. And 22.)

*sniggers again at 18, 19 and 12. And 16. And 8.*

What a thing to wake up to - and I can see my flist is saying everything that I might say, and more, and better, so I'll link to this news article that says it all very succintly, rather than waffle.

And so I'll just do what I always do, and make fic recs, because the Brigadier would never have been the awesome character everyone loves to read/write about were it not for the immense charm and likeability of Nicholas Courtney, who with his seemingly endless fondness for the role and the show became far much more to everyone involved than 'just' an actor who was in it for a few years.
