but I'm actually very fond of Record of a Spaceborn Few -- I think it is my favorite of the four,

I think I'm probably unfair to it, both because I read it when I was particularly unwell, but chiefly because it was doing all the things you mentioned, and I am particularly fond of a multi-POV approach, but I just found too many of the POVs just too similar at base and that made me stop buying it, unfortunately. They're easy-reading things with some wonderful world-building details and very good natured, and I would be happy to read the rest if I could stumble across them easily somewhere, but that's generally unlikely.

And I should get back to the Raksura books at some point... I liked the first book, and some of the things I didn't like about it apparently get addressed in later books, but somehow I never continued...

I did enjoy the rest more than the first, but I think that was only because it was a steep curve into the world-building as well as Moon-alone being of less interest than once we got to the rest of the Raksura, but idk, they're excellent and I enjoyed them a lot, but they seemed to be very much exactly what they were from start to finish, really. I suppose it depends what annoyed you!
