thisbluespirit... I Learned From Blake's 7.
(after those articles in DWM, years back. Last week, there was one day where I was too ill to do anything other than lie about thinking for most of the day. Prior to that point, I'd been watching lots of B7, so naturally, I thought about that for a bit...)
1. There is never any reason not to dress with style, except (possibly) if you are a slave or a Mutoid.
2. You can be too complicated and untrusting for your own good.
3. You can be too uncomplicated and trusting for your own good.
4. Crime doesn't pay. Neither does rebellion, dictatorship, obeying orders, surrender, murder, or trying to ignore things and hope they go away. (Basically, you're stuffed. Deal with it. Be cool.)
5. Guards are people, too. They just have a shorter life-span than most.
6. Telepathy is not all it's cracked up to be. Either no one believes you, or something evil is trying to get in your head. This can cause much awkwardness at work.
7. You may not always get along with colleagues, but it would pay to be a bit more open with them every now and then.
8. It's annoying, but you need Vila.
9. Computers are almost never just machines, whatever Avon says.
10. Sarcasm is the highest form of wit.
Oh, and:
11. If you are very good, the Clonemasters will give you your own Blake for Christmas.
12. Everybody needs a pet rock.
13. Orac is too busy to talk to you right now, but will get back to your petty problems later, after you have dealt with them yourself. Assuming you didn't die in the meantime, of course.
