I wrote this in the first moment of my shock, and I was probably over-harsh and didn't necessarily say exactly what I later meant - but still. It's not untrue. I wish it was! In a different political climate, in a better economic situation, we could have had a Referendum on those issues, but we didn't. And I do understand that a lot of people in the most deprived areas voted out of frustration and anger, but that doesn't make it better. I'm just trying not to make myself get mad at the people who are now saying, "But the perfectly nice (even Black/Asian) people I know who voted Leave for good reasons aren't xenophobic!" because I know it won't help; it'll just make me stressed. Blame is what got us into this, after all, but, ack, people who won't even admit there's a problem here... /o\

I keep alternating between horror and anger and grief now. I know things can and hopefully will still all work out, maybe even for better than we had, but to needlessly do even the damage we've done so far is just awful, let alone the potential for what could follow if we're all unlucky.
