Hurt/Comfort Bingo - May Amnesty Challenge

I signed up again at hc_bingo, as even though I failed with the other one, May is for Small Fandoms, so surely I can manage something? For May the challenge is to use one or more or all of my given prompts in one work for a small fandom:

phobias	combat
deals with demons	allergic reaction

I haven't had any thoughts on what to do yet, so suggestions welcome! (I've only got as far as thinking I'll maybe see if there's something that fits from my S&S list of prompts, or 500 prompts... & speaking of the 500 prompts thing, more of that later.)

IDK, I don’t think that anything you do with the “deals with demons” prompt will ever top your librarian story.

Tentative book series rec for you (tentative because you’ll probably either love it or hate it and because I haven’t read the third book yet so it could still go horribly wrong): The Lady Helen trilogy by Alison Goodman (the actual titles of the books are The Dark Days Club, The Dark Days Pact, and The Dark Days Deceit). It’s YA gaslamp fantasy that I can only summarize as Georgette Heyer meets my rudimentary understanding of Buffy. Like I say, you’d either love or hate it based on what I know of you.

Thanks for the rec! I've added it to my wishlist & I'll see if I can try it/them sometime. And, yeah, heh, I'm really picky about those kinds of things. (It's very annoying.)
