Yes, ITV do change the murderers - and put Mrs Marple in stories she doesn't belong in. Not always. Random romances are a more entertaining feature, although A Pocketful of Rye was disappointingly accurate. (I had hoped with Matthew Mcfadyen as the Inspector, the Inspector/Posh Thief shippiness that hovers about it the book and the BBC adapatation would take flight. It didn't. [livejournal.com profile] john_elliott wrote me a drabble to make it up to me!)

I love Gosford Park so much; I can't be unbiased about it. It's an oddity, but a marvellous cast (Kelly McDonald, Maggie Smith, Helen Mirren, Eileen Atkins, Charles Dance, Michael Gambon, Stephen Fry, Derek Jacobi, Clive Owen, Jeremy Northam - and that's not the whole lot!) One thing to bear in mind is no matter what the cover indicates it is NOT a murder mystery. A murder takes place, yes, but it is something quite different. (I say this because expecting the Agatha Christie type set up the write-ups promised is one way to ruin the film).

Sorry, that was definitely oppression. Heh, you never know - it might even be on TV again sometime soon. It is every now and then.
