Beyond the Roundels

The justmarriedexchange collection has finally gone live! I hope to explore it some later, but in the meantime, it was worth the wait - I have two lovely gifts, featuring two quite different couples getting accidentally married for reasons, with two quite different outcomes!

Anyway, the two I wrote are also finally released upon the world and I've had some nice feedback, and in a week I can talk about what a lovely time I had writing that gift (aside from not being well enough to do that to a deadline, lol), hopefully.

There's quite a bit of Doctor Who as well as other things - I've read some really great fic so far already, so the collection is well worth checking out!

I wrote a treat for maythe4thbewithyou! It was Obi-Wan/Padme wingfic, which happened for reasons, but made strange sense of the PT-era Jedi and had to be done once I'd thought of it. Anyway, it was a nice prompt. I had fun.

(Also, he may not be in this fic, but the idea that this AU contained a flying Yoda cheered me up a lot while I was writing it, back whenever that actually was. Also because, like, just because the Jedi are weird beings with wings and fiery swords who worry a lot about falling and becoming demons Sith doesn't mean they're angels or anything. :lol:)

chocolateboxcomm has gone live and I have two marvellous gifts! I haven't even begun on the rest of the still-growing collection but it all looks very shiny from here, with around 1100 works.

Anyway, I have lucked out again, since my main gift is this, an amazing long Emma/Regina fic for OUaT that is a canon divergence reworking of S3B, in which it's Regina who goes to try and get Emma to remember and things work out in a way that Regina never expected (and isn't sure she wanted). Basically, it is really lovely with fairy tale edges but also spiky and awkward and funny and a bit painful in places, which is exactly how I want a Swan Queen fic to be and can so rarely find, and I love it.

I also had a treat for the Star Wars Prequels, for Obi-Wan/Padme, a delightful, fun mission-fic from an AU where they're the ones in a relationship. (No matter what AU he is in, though, Obi-Wan still has to put up with other people's dangerous driving, but this is only right and proper.)

On the other side, I've had a comment on the gift I wrote, and am very relieved. I don't think I've ever been so nervous in an exchange before as I was with that and the treat, and not knowing whether I could trust they were any good. But the recip seems to have liked it, so that is a great relief, and the important thing in any case.
