Prompts for 2021

I had nearly forgotten about this, but early in the year I gave out a set of prompts to anyone who was willing to take them and made a collection for it.

Anyway, while obviously I'm not going to close the collection or anything if anyone is still planning on using some more, it only seemed right to say that four people actually wrote fic for them (and posted to the collection) and wrote six works. Although actually, it's even more impressive than that because senmut's is a ficlet collection and they finished the whole 30 prompts off, while sealgirl wrote 100k+ for one of them. 0_o

But I'm glad it did work for a few people *\o/* and I think everybody enjoyed looking at the prompts. I certainly loved making them!! And what are prompts for but looking at the shiny and then not writing them? XD

Anyway, you can check out the results at the link above should you want to. And, I mean, it's not too late to write a thing for them, either...

XD So true!!

I wrote one story (I think, but ended up keeping it for myself?) and have at least two more in my drafts folder. Maybe we should call it "prompts for 2021... and onwards", because I'm definitely hoping to keep on trying to write something. Eventually.

Ooh, yes, I should probably change the collection name. Just "thisbluespirits perpetual prompts" instead. XD

I'm so glad you wrote something off it, even if I must be a little jealous you kept it solely to yourself. But sometimes that's how it is. And writing is writing! *nods*

I've just checked, and I actually wrote something for three of the prompts, but it was crappy writing and therefore not deserving of jealousy, haha! Writing is writing, though! I definitely agree, especially right now when summer and real life are being awful and keeping me away from it...

Oh, three! Well done! I won't comment on the writing, although probably someone else would not think it was that crappy. But that can be worse!! (Haha, how can you trust these readers if they have no taste??!)

Some people may be sensible about prompts or just really organised and prolific, but I am sure the proper way is to be eyes-bigger-than-your-stomach regarding them. And then maybe one square, one prompt etc. will happen! But they are soooo shiny... XD

heh, it was a long time ago now! And it wasn't fic for me! Fic for the people who got the prompts - and I'm very glad it worked for people.

(Late to the party, as per usual, I was going to reply and left the tab open, then lost the tab and forgot about it. Until right... now!)


I have a couple of wee ones half written as well, but I'd like to give you a big juicy salmon as thanks for doing those. I really enjoyed them. Having a backbone of prompts helped me enormously with the giant fic. It was one of those times when idea and prompts really came together. -x-
