Memed from just about everyone:
Go look at your journal. Find the last fandom-related thing you posted. The characters in that post are now your team-mates in the Zombie Apocalypse. How doomed are you? [If I had used the original wording for this, you might have got more of my thoughts on Elementals and teh sex, and that would only be worrying.]
Okay, so I have Sapphire, Steel and Silver. I suspect that the zombies are therefore more like the soldiers in Assignment Two. I am pretty sure the zombies are doomed, but there is a very good chance I am too. Happily, the odds of my survival are slightly upped by the presence of Silver as well. (And he can have my ring, my necklace, my earrings, whatever to make stuff.) I still might be doomed. But right now I have to say, there are worse ways to go. It might well end up never having happened - probably the best possible outcome with this team.
Hmm. Actually, I have Lead, too. Zombies are doomed - I'm not. It's okay.

Date: 10 Jul 2011 11:08 am (UTC)I'm just not totally sure *I'm* not doomed as well. Right now, though, if that means I get to watch Sapphire & Steel posing perfectly and maybe get nicely flirted at by Silver first, it'd probably be worth it anyway.

Date: 10 Jul 2011 04:25 pm (UTC)Well, let's admit it, it would be quite tough to find a band of sf heroes who are less reliable than TW, bless their little pteradactyls and all.
And, yes, indeed, if I am doomed, it will be done with impeccable posing.

Date: 17 Jul 2011 12:11 pm (UTC)... And, while I do not wish to be annoying and oppressive again... (I was thinking we were even now, but then I thought about no of episodes and TWW vs Life. Yeah...*cough*). Anyway, as you can see, I watched Sapphire & Steel, but I kept thinking Hmm,
I am not absolutely sure, because after all, it is v old, I don't *really* know you in rl, and I did wonder if what I really meant was 'belantana would get how beautiful an idea this is for fanfic', which is probably true, but I still think you might like it. It is... very mysterious and has only 34 1/2 hr eps (six stories). Even though it is old and made by ITV and quite cheap and 1970s/1980s dingy, it is extremely visual, and I always get the feeling you are more visual than me. It doesn't just do creepy images (like a house with loads of clocks, or a deserted railway station with one lone whistling ghostly soldier, or sepia children playing in the dark), it goes out to unsettle the viewer by doing things wrong. There is much standing and posing; the camera stays quite static in odd positions, so you get shots of people's middles with their faces chopped off (I screencapped, so I noticed it) and Joanna Lumley and David McCallum as the title characters are non-human metallurgical elemental thingies and do not behave like anyone else on TV that I have ever seen. Nothing much is explained to the viewer, and it becomes clear that these elementals are also mysterious to each other. Sapphire and Steel are also as shippy as anything, but so coolly. And then there is Silver who turns up half way through. But I am biased in his favour (he is David Collings, and I bought the Full Fathom Five audio to hear him being the Doctor, so, yes, biased = me). Still, I have to like a character who goes about like a magpie picking up shiny things, gets a brilliant entrance, annoys (and flirts with) the male lead and then flirts even more with the female lead. It would be possible to find him annoying or creepy or both, but I love dhim to bits.)
And then they all make the most beautiful, flirty mysterious OT3 I have seen.It is all about time breaks and psychic-y stuff. I forgot to mention that.I linked on my LJ to
So... sorry about that. I won't mention it again (well except in my posts, as it is something I will not be able to resist writing for/talking about/making icons for), but in between thinking: 'this is slow... but v v cool' and 'ooh, that was chilling' and '*flail* Silver! *flail*' I did really think 'Belantana would like this', so I had to mention it. Sorry.
Okay. *breathes again*. I am terribly annoying, but this one... Well, you could just go for the fic. As long as you avoid refs to the ending, there are so little canon facts that everything is either Missing Assignments or total fanon which varies from fic to fic. (It is on YouTUbe, too.)

Date: 17 Jul 2011 02:50 pm (UTC)Not to mention of course that you *do* know a lot better than most people in my RL the kind of thing I like, so I will always trust your judgement. :D I'm therefore going to resoundingly reject all your apologies. So there.
I'll attempt to acquire this next weekend, then! YAY.
