9. Seventh Doctor (DW)
10. Captain Kathryn Janeway (Star Trek)

pitry asked:
1. Yoda, Lt Gruber and Eleven are fighting the evil Giraffes. What are their strategies?
Yoda teaches them how to do it; Eleven then ignores all his instructions and comes up instead with a much more fun and complicated plan involving the sonic screwdriver, timey-wimey-ness and improvements to Gruber's little tank. The giraffes are doomed. Yoda is displeased.
2.a. Having finished their noble fight and eradicated the giraffes, our competent team discovers that the Master, Silver and Captain Janeway have started cultivating bonsai giraffes. How will they penetrate the secure compound?
2.b. Whose side is Ruth on and what are they doing there in the first place?
2.c. Also, why ARE these folks cultivating bonsai Giraffes?
Okay... Since there is no way Janeway would ever be in league with the Master; she and Silver and Ruth are humouring him in his latest plot (and will inevitably turn on him as all his allies do). The Master has some crazy plan to get the Doctor's attention; Janeway is doing it in a spirit of scientific curiosity and Silver is probably just fixing whatever gadgets are needed for it to amuse himself or for reasons unknown. Ruth is on the Doctor's side, of course, and that is how they get in - she lets them in. Everybody has a nice time with the bonsai giraffes, except the Master. And probably Yoda.

2, 8 and 15 meet for lunch - love-in or epic fight?
Ruth, Romana I and Eleven? I should think they have a thoroughly nice time, with some extra entertainment in the shape of invading aliens to stop them getting bored. Or maybe they just meet up to tell Romana about the epic struggle vs the giraffes and let her have a bonsai one for a pet.
derekmetaltron:
1. The Master and Avon are planning a surprise Birthday Party for Gruber. What will the theme be, which other three people on the list will they invite and what presents will they each bring for Gruber?
LOL. I think if Avon and the Master are planning a surprise birthday party for poor Gruber, the only answer is for him to run away as far and as fast as he can (Cafe Rene should do it) and never ever open whatever it is they got him. In fact, if he has any sense, he'll give it to General von Klinkerhoffen or Herr Flick. As to whom they'd invite, I suppose that depends what their sinister plans are, but the Master would have to invite the Doctor, (there'd be no point to throwing an evil birthday party if the Doctor didn't notice), so he invites Seven and Eleven, while Avon would presumably invite Jenna, as she's the only person he knows on the list.
2. Silver and Long John Silver are trapped on a island with Dinosaurs, but Donna Noble might be able to save them! What's the plan to escape and why would the Seventh Doctor not want them to succeed?
(Excuse me while I reconstruct my brain.) Well, Silver would be unlikely to be trapped on an island with dinosaurs, not if the other Silver was there, because that suggests there is treasure. If there's treasure, Silver's not trapped. On the other hand, I don't think he would like the dinosaurs much. Or Long John Silver. This question may explain part of JJPOR's, so clearly, Donna has a boat and turns up to rescue the right Silver and let the wrong one get eaten. Why Seven is trying to stop them - who knows? He'll have some mysterious reasons of his own, possibly to do with not wanting to let time-related scheming get noticed by an Element.

One, three, six and eleven are drifting at sea in a lifeboat hundreds of miles from land, with no food and little hope. Which of them suggests, on the umpteenth day, that they should eat one of their number? Who resists the idea most tenaciously? And which one of them, should things pan out that way, ends up as lunch?
Silver, Yoda, Donna and Granny Weatherwax in a boat? Nobody is going to get eaten, although I suspect Silver would find it amusing to make the suggestion, but Granny Weatherwax isn't going to hold with people getting eaten - and the only one who could possibly be in any trouble here is Donna. And I'm sure one of the others would make sure she gets out with them.
Silver glanced over, and said, mostly for his own amusement, "I suppose one of you could volunteer to be - ah - eaten for the sake of the others."
There was a pause.
"And everyone can bloody well STOP looking at me," snapped Donna.
"Nobody here's doing any eatin' of anyone," said Granny Weatherwax, giving Silver an evil look. "You got any other clever ideas, Mr Silver?"
Silver smiled. "Well, if Miss Noble would pass me those earrings -."
"Thought so," said Granny Weatherwax.
"An idea I have -."
Everyone looked at Yoda.
"Can't he learn to talk? How's a person supposed to understand anything he says?"
As it was his 53rd attempt, Yoda decided just to get on and float the boat to safety without trying to explain this time.
(And don't say I cheated - no matter how you look at this question, logic insists no one gets eaten: Silver is presumably inedible and doesn't need to eat; Yoda is not far behind him on those stakes, and I'd imagine Granny Weatherwax would manage without food for longer than most. Which leaves Donna as the person most likely to need to eat someone and the person most likely to be eaten. So, at a push, she could eat her own arm or something, but a person would have to be stupid to eat their own arm when they're in a boat with an Elemental Technician, a Jedi Master and the Discworld's most powerful witch, and Donna isn't stupid. Besides, what Granny Weatherwax doesn't hold with doesn't happen in her vicinity. You could have picked almost any other set of characters on this list and people would have got eaten, but you picked Silver, Yoda, Donna and Granny Weatherwax. What can I do?)

Jenna, Granny Weatherwax, and Yoda form a study group. How does it go, who (if anyone) does most of the work, and who is most prone to getting distracted and throwing spitwads around or juggling crumpled balls of paper etc?
Uhhh. Ummm. The only one of these I can see even trying to study - and that's assuming that she was there for that reason, and not for undercover purposes - would be Jenna, who'd get on, get the work done and have more time to spend on more interesting things. What they would do as a study team I DO NOT KNOW. I cannot imagine. Yoda would be the one to throw crumpled bits of paper about, though. And Granny Weatherwax would probably not object to other people studying.
sallymn:
[1] Donna, Seven and Long John Silver have to save the word from Ruth Evershed. How doomed are we?
Well, basically I think Donna and Seven could save the world from anyone, although I don't think that Silver would be a helpful addition. And Ruth would rule the world quite well, really, much better than most people, and probably only have conquered it from behind the scenes (and with much gleeful scheming and hacking into things), so basically, whatever happens, we're not doomed at all. Hurrah!
[2] Romana I decides to seduce Bertie Wooster. How doomed is Romana?
Heh, I somehow don't think Romana's in the least bit doomed. Bertie, on the other hand... Ha ahaha. Although I suppose it does depend on where the Doctor and Jeeves are at the time, and what they think about it. It's fair to say the relationship is probably doomed, if nothing else.
[3] The Master, Yoda, Gruber, and Janeway are were-creatures, what is each's creature?
Okay, the Ainsley Master has to be a cat; Yoda... erm. He already is a thing? Gruber would be a were-hamster, and Janeway, maybe a fox?
akashasheiress:
Silver confesses to Romana I and Eleven that he has been on a killing spree and is having the time of his life. In fact Silver is now selling his victims' organs on the black market. Will Romana and Eleven a) believe Silver and b) try to stop him (and how?).
Ohhhh.... 0_o Excuse me while I go off and whimper and wibble pathetically in a corner for a moment, can you? *cries* IT IS A LIE! IT IS NOT TRUE!!
Right, okay *pulls self together*: If you assume that Silver is killing off deserving victims by ingenious (non-messy) technical means this is kind of worryingly plausible, especially about him enjoying himself. I mean, he wouldn't do it unless it was fun (or necessary). Although the selling of the organs... I don't think he'd like dissection much. It's messy and he prefers dealing with machine innards rather than human ones.
So, no, Romana and Eleven do not believe him, because it IS NOT TRUE and he made it up to distract them from the fact that Sapphire and Steel are busy trying to sort out an awkward time break that they do not want Eleven getting involved in. (I should think an element would disapprove of Eleven's attitude to Time even more than they'd disapprove of the rest of the Doctors.) It seemed like a good distraction, and he is indeed having a lot of fun doing everything he can to convince them and leaving telling clues about the place and things. When that fails, because, after all, it's Eleven and Romana, he'll probably just try flirting again. (Look! It's like me finally doing a story for Eleven and Romana!! With bonus Silver! And then they have lunch with Ruth. Go me! Actually, put these two questions together and it probably explains a lot about how Ruth came to conquer the world, which, really, she should have done. I expect she went off with the bonsai giraffes.)

Date: 2012-02-12 10:17 pm (UTC)I love Donna, Yoda, Granny Weatherwax and Silver in a boat though. Poor Yoda, no one's listening. And Silver? It's not wise to annoy Granny Weatherwax; she knows headology and she's not afraid to use it.

Date: 2012-02-13 05:38 pm (UTC)Heh. Silver, Yoda, Granny Weatherwax and Donna in a boat is one of the best random things I've had off these memes. No-o, true, but he might learn that too late!
