Drabbles: I've been battling with a whole load of long fics (you wouldn't believe how many half-written things there are on my pc and in my notebook at the moment) and suddenly realised what I needed was a good drabble. (It's like sharpening your pencil or something). So I managed one I'd been toying with for Love & Science.

And then I worked out the difference between doctorwho_100 and dw100, so now I can join in the weekly challenges. Yay.

Plus, the latest tardis_gen pair of fics are lovely. A Second Doctor, Ben, Polly and Jamie Reciprocal Quandaries that had me hopping up and down for joy and a really unusual piece with Jabe, Jo Grant and Sergeant Benton. (Go, read!)

And a crazy meme I picked up from persiflage_1, which looked like my sort of fun:

Make up a title for a story I didn't write, and I will respond with details of those non-written stories. You may if you like include details, such as pairings or fandom or whatnot.

All this and Ashes to Ashes on TV in about 3 minutes? And it started off such a miserable day...

That Jabe fic was absolutely GORGEOUS! I didn't read the other one yet.

And I'm still getting over the shock of ending up with TWO Martha/Nine fics from pinch-hitters at tardis_gen!

I loved both, but Ben, Polly and Two with silly hats and a proper historical? There goes my heart. :-) (And, yes, I noticed - lucky you!!)

And, since I was still in drabble mode, here's the story I didn't write:

Liz wiped at the bright green stains on the Doctor’s jacket with a cloth.

“It’s ruined, Brigadier,” he complained.

“If you will accuse the cook of being an alien infiltrator, you might expect to have custard thrown at you.”

“Custard? It was green. Hirieth slime, I tell you – absolutely lethal.”

Liz said, “I analysed a sample. Definitely custard. Apparently she had an accident with food colouring earlier.”

“It certainly tasted like custard,” added the Brigadier. He received two looks of disgust for his unscientific methods.

Then Liz grinned. “I’d better take you to the cleaners, Doctor.”

“Custard,” he said. “Honestly!”

I'd love to hear about that other story you didn't write, The Gallifreyan Bric-a-Brac Handbag's Brief Defense in a Hole with Polly (Who was Only Visiting),
it was one of my favorites. ^_^

Yay, you're to join us at dw100? Woot! am so behind on my dw100 drabbles - woefully neglected them of late, I'll have to try to play 'catchup' sometime soon.

Heh. No, somebody had to mollify the irate cook and Sergeant Benton wasn't around, so the Brig took on the custard-eating duties. Or possibly was commandeered by the Doctor, who knows? :-D

It's scary how instantly this one I didn't write lodged itself in my head!!

And I have joined you at dw100. I had been meaning to ages ago, but found myself in doctorwho_100 and feeling slightly mystified. And I have 246 to catch up on... I'd better not!!

I'll have to think about Polly in a Hole with a Handbag for a moment.

I don't think I can drabble that, but here's what happened:

It's the one where Polly finds a murderous but repentant animate handbag (of Gallifreyan origin) in a hole and forces it to confess to its crimes. However, it doesn't get far before being entirely squashed by the Doctor, who misjudged the length of rope necessary to reach her (Ben did try to tell him and offer to go down himself, but you know what he's like). Nevertheless, they swiftly found another way out.

It was a shame, because Polly thought it was rather a nice handbag, in the fashionable sense, anyway.

And... TTR: Wine and Water

GK Chesterton has come into the Round (being as I mentioned him in Ballad of Suicide) and he doesn't care where the water goes as long as it doesn't get into the wine. Of course, certain people instantly take this as a challenge and Hilarity Ensues as it so often does, finishing with Fitz coming in on a Friday to drown his troubles, only to get the most watered down drink he's ever had. I'll stop there because I actually had an actual slight TTR idea for the first time in an age...

Okay, now I am officially impressed - I totally admit I was being a bit silly - but you really *did* manage to scrounge up something for it anyway! Aw, that poor sentient handbag...and I'm sure it was far larger on the inside than anyone gave it credit for.

Yes, the whole thing probably would end up with a disastrous flood.

And, inadvertently, that's given me the hook I've been looking for to do the TTR story I haven't been able to write for an age. Thanks!! If it comes off, you'll find out soon enough. :-D
