Ian/Barbara - roaming the forest, 147 words
Date: 21 Mar 2015 02:15 pm (UTC)***
“It’s nice enough,” said Ian, walking arm in arm with Barbara through the woods. “Bit quiet, though, don’t you think?”
Barbara threw him a look. “What, you’d rather there were giant insects waiting to leap out from you behind the trees?”
“That’d do it. And over there,” Ian said, “if you squint, that tree trunk could almost be a Dalek. Ah, makes you miss the alien forests, doesn’t it – full of things just desperate to kill you one way or another.”
Barbara shook her head at his silliness, and laughed. “I think the worst danger you’re likely to run into here is a wasp, I’m afraid. No battles or adventures today, Sir Ian.”
“Oh, well,” said Ian. “I’m probably a bit out of practice anyway.”
“Except,” Barbara said, suddenly very serious, “there is one thing.”
“Oh?”
She nodded. “You did remember to bring the sandwiches, didn’t you?”
