NaArMaMo - Day 23: Icons by Request

These were made for Day 23 from caps sent by persiflage_1. She requested that I keep them plain - no frilly textures and certainly no sparkles! So I tried to still stretch myself a bit for naarmamo within that (mainly with cropping, subtle textures/textures as colouring etc.) but - and this is how to get extra selection of icons, LOL - a plain base/alternate just in case that still counted as frilly. To pay for it, there will be slight commentary. Sorry about that.


(Pers, feel free to prefer either, neither or both in each case, of course. :-D)

naarmamo entry on left; base/alternate on right:

1.

(I loved the lighting in the other half of the cap a lot, so cropped it down to use as a texture - mainly just as a little bit of lighting to lift it; anything else detracted from the icon.)

2.

Obviously, Ben with hat was fun, but I wanted to get a close crop of his grin - the cap was already nearly-icon ready, but I did my best. With wider crop including the hat as an alternate.

3.
Yes, well, couldn't resist. Sorry. Text-free base for absence of my silliness. (It's Peter's fault - I was going to do a closer crop and then realised he had such a puzzled/put out expression...)

4.

Actually, both of these have an equal amount of textures and things, one is just a closer crop, and with a tiny bit of visible texture on the left. (There was a lot of red colouring to combat in the cap. I won. I think. :-D)

5.

I'm not much good at shrinking people (as it were), so I wanted texture to frame Freema and add a bit of colour - the alternate is just the base.

6.

Actually, again, neither of these is plain (I forgot to save my base again, whoops. I blame Freema for being ridiculously pretty), but one is a closer crop and has a little bit of texture (because pretty calls to pretty, sorry), but both actually have the screen layer/gaussian blur-glow to them.

7.

Brown is a little dull, so I made a closer crop with a bit of more obvious texture. But plain alternate is provided.

*flail* I adore the "Where did I put the TARDIS?" icon. I've asked Pers for permission to snag it; if she says okay, is it also all right with you? I would credit both of you.

Your other icons are great too, by the way. Sorry, when I get particularly excited by one icon, I tend to focus on that and not mention the others, which are also excellent.

It's fine with me if other people snag the iconses - except, of course, the Fic by Pers one.

I LOVE the TARDIS comment one - have snagged a bunch!

It's always fine with me if people snag my icons; the only exceptions are when they are gift icons for other people - then you need to ask the other person involved, as you have. Credit is always nice, but to be honest, I just get a thrill when people actually want to use them.

And thank you. And don't worry; I hadn't thought to read it as '...and I don't think much of the rest...' - I'm clearly not all *that* modest. Use it enough, and maybe someone will make there be fic. :-D

Yay, glad you liked them! And, yes - although I suppose if someone did want to use it it'd be a form of free advertising. (Ben has such taste in fiction, yes.)

And in that cap, it only occurred to me afterwards that you might have wanted the other person in it, but obviously I only had eyes for Freema and Peter. What can I say?

LOL Actually that was fine, 'cos I do have an icon of Alesha, Henry and Jake - I'd just forgotten that when I gave you the cap.

Now I have to work out which icons to swap out so I can use the new ones1
