People, I have failed to look in the tumblr David Collings tag much lately, and clearly this is a thing of which I must repent.

Or, in other words, I just found this:




It's from Cosmopolitan, Dec 1973, as part of some sort of Boutique catalogue ad, it seems, and he's bearded as it was shot while he was filming Mahler. (The original images and details are here, although be warned for pretty terrible 70s-ness, by which I do not mean the shirt. The shirt is a true work of art.)

I have to say, "catalogue shoot" is not a place I ever thought I'd see David Collings. Crawling round the floor crying and dying, yes. This, no... :lol:

That's a shirt and a half! Are you sure this was 1973, and not from some secret appearance on "Top Of The Pops" in 1981, supporting Adam & the Ants?

I realise looking at that shirt may be hazardous to a person's health, but he clearly has buttons there. He just hasn't done them up. Giving him some more isn't going to help here, but maybe a mirror might? ;-p

The awful thing is that I'm not entirely sure that scruff-bearded David Collings in a pink ruffled shirt open at the chest isn't at least a teeny-weeny bit attractive. Help?

He is carrying off the Shirt about as well as anyone could, I think, it's true.
