I didn't manage to get my story done in time, as I felt rotten for a while, but it's enough done that I expect I will still post it when I can finish it. In the meantime, have a post I made earlier...

It's that time of the year again - a little late even! Last year's is here. The short version is probably that it's all a self-fulfilling prophecy, and that I'll never write anything more popular than Miss Marple, but we shall see :

I still can't believe how popular that Heyer double drabble is, especially since I wrote it years ago when I accidentally canonized a fandom without works and clearly needed to solve the problem that way rather than clicking on the ticky box to de-canonize the fandom. The Spirit of St Mary Mead hadn't made it last year, but you can never keep Miss Marple down, or I can't, certainly.

Thank goodness for Yuletide and other exchanges or these lists would just be an endless re-arranging of the exact same stories. My rewriting of the Battle of Hastings jumped into this list, and By the Book has also managed to keep getting kudos since last year, which is very nice, and more surprising, really - I wouldn't have expected an original work to continue to pick up readers now that the exchange is well and truly done. (Although, stranger still, in the time it took me to do this post as a draft & eventually post it, while most of the other kudos numbers stayed more or less the same, Not Bad For A First Attempt shot up by 13, which is weird. But nice.)
