RL has caught up with me with a vengeance, but I'll catch up with some reviews of things what I been watching lately.

I completely forgot about posting the Carry On reviews for the last 3 films I found. I'm sure you must have been devastated. (In fact I'm not sure I have since I got lots of new friends. Erm. Don't run away. Just don't read...)

That'll come in useful in case my legs ever split up and stop talking to one another )

BTW, since I last did this, Peter Rogers has died, so I think that means the Carry Ons finally are at an end. (Thankfully, really, but still.)

Since I did find quite a few of the films a while back, here are the rest of my waffly reviews.  (And before people wonder why I've got the little sanity I have left to me, these were watched over the last 3 or so weeks, not just today or something!)

New friends, well, you remember I said I was slightly mad...  Here be proof.

I did promise this a while back - just a few.  (Sorry, the quality isn't great on some of them.  My technical skills are developing slowly!)

I had a nose round some charity shops today and (yay) managed to pick up Carry on Cruising and Carry on Don't Lose Your Head (yay again). Then I went and cheated. I went to HMV, because I really do want to see Carry on Screaming. And you could get 4 on one DVD very cheaply (Spying, Cleo, Screaming and Cowboy) and there was also Carry on Cabby with That's Carry On (the compilation film) attached. And given that the only other TV/films I'd waffle about this much (Doctor Who, Spooks, Dungeons and Dragons etc), I already own and I've got a week to myself...

Since some kind people have been reading their way through my story without having a clue about Carry Ons or what these people look like, a nice bit of pic spam for those who've followed me this far:

Title: How the West Was Lost
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Characters: Third Doctor, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart
Rating: All Ages / PG (There is much typical Carry On-ness and some comic violence).
Other: Set between Inferno and Terror of the Autons.  Crossover with Carry On Cowboy.

Summary
: What the good citizens of Stodge City want is a US peace Marshal to run the Rumpo Kid out of town. What they get is a confused sanitation engineer, demure Miss Oakley with a rifle in her trunk, an elegant Time Lord who's the livin' spit of the dead Sheriff and a sceptical Brigadier who might just be the only man in the town who can shoot straight.  The Wild West was never like this...

Disclaimer
: I don't own Doctor Who; the BBC does.  And I wouldn't dream of laying claim to the Carry On franchise, which is property of Gerald Thomas & Peter Rogers (I presume)

(Edit: It's now complete.)

As I noted a few entries below, Carry On Cowboy has Jon Pertwee as the ill-fated Sheriff, Angela Douglas (aka Doris Lethbridge-Stewart) as Annie Oakley, and Peter Butterworth as the Doc (The Meddling Monk).  It's crying out for a comic crossover with many dodgy accents and much trying of the Brigadier's patience.

Okay, I had fun watching Carry on Cowboy, cos little things please me.  Angela Douglas, who often plays the seemingly sweet and innocent heroine in several Carry Ons also ended up being Doris and marrying the Brigadier in Doctor Who.  I only realised this recently and I was prepared to entertain myself with the idea that the Brig eventually marries Annie Oakley (which is perfect, of course), but it turns out she's also Jon Pertwee's daughter in this one.

I know.  Got to find a life.  But isn't that great?  It cries out for crossover madness somewhere...

I seem to have developed a sideline in waffling about odd (very odd!), old videos I've picked up in charity shops.  Lately (in addition to keeping my eyes peeled for Blake's 7), I've been hoping to find some of those old, black and white Carry on films.  Yes, I know.  This is not cool by any standards, but then I've never claimed to be...
