Three good things

1. The Yuletide tagset is live! Time to see which favourite tiny fandoms unexpectedly made it in...


2. The BBC are putting Classic Who on iPlayer, or some of it certainly, from Nov 1st to celebrate the 60th. If you're in the UK and want an easy way to check out old Doctors, now you have one!


3. S5 of BBC's Ghosts dropped last Friday. I meant to watch one a day, but as I finished it yesterday and started on Saturday, you can tell that that resolution held out. (It's only six eps! It was very sweet and funny as ever and then they made me cry again, damn their eyes! <3<3<3 I must remember to unblock the tag on tumblr again now I can no longer be spoiled.)

Oh and it's worth pointing out that the new release of Doctor Who on iPlayer is going to be the most accessible it's EVER been - audio described, subtitles AND sign language - NEVER has it EVER been available to so many people who aren't fully abled.

Oh, yes; that was the bit that got me all right. I knew Pat's line dancing was going to come back and hurt me somehow, but I was totally blindsided as to how, and then it's making me cry at these ridiculous characters dancing to a cheery song! Damn their eyes indeed. (I will miss them.)

And that's really great indeed.

Pat's line-dancing did indeed cause emotional wreckage. I went and listened to the song three times afterwards just to sob some more!
I shall very much miss them - hard to think there's only an Xmas special remaining.

I've only watched the first ep of 'Ghosts' so far and I can only boggle at your speed. What I predicted would happen did in ep 1 though. 'Ghosts' will forever be remembered as the comedy that made everyone cry at frequent intervals!

'Casablanca' is back in the tag set this year:)

It will! And, heh, I only watched 1 a day on Saturday and Sunday, but I slipped and watched 2 on Monday, and then Tuesday I was going to stick to one, but... then I only had the last oen! I had to see what happened! (I have so little will power sometimes.)

I have now also finished Ghosts! I didn't actually cry, but was very close during both of the last episodes (so, in combination with the Kitty one, fully half the episodes, lol)

I think I'm going to have to rewatch on my own so I can pause and take down thoughts, but that was lovely, and a less bittersweet ending than I was expecting (even knowing that there would be a Christmas special), so that's good!

We were able to source Ghosts (local TV only had the US version here - nope) and have watched three eps because we like to spin good things out. It's even better than I thought it would be, but I do feel sorry for Alison. I'd go spare, never being left alone like that, even though most of the ghosts are lovely (and Julian's funny despite not being).

As soon as I saw Alison, I said that Charlotte Ritchie looks just like Margot Kidder, just can't unsee it, and I see by googling that I'm far from the only one.

Aw, I'm so glad you found it! It's such a lovely little show, and I think it kind of levelled up in s2 as well, so I'm sure you'll continue to enjoy it in that case.

US Ghosts isn't bad! It's lighter, despite having more eps, but it has mostly different ghosts and is still fun and sweet. They also like remixing the original, which is quite fun to watch, and shows that the writers approached it with a lot of affection for the UK version and not just waltzing off with the premise. BUt, yeah, it's not proper Ghosts. <3 A nice bonus, though.
