Doctor Who Random Generator

I got sidetracked out of anything I was supposed to be doing today, and instead made a TARDIS Team Mash Up Generator! (ETA: Via Perchance, I should say, which potentiality_26 linked to and though I've looked at it before, this time I had an idea and I made a bit more sense of it.)

I think it's pretty good fun already, although I suppose I would. (It matches up a Doctor (or another Time Lord) with a companion (or companion team) plus a plot and object (generally based on something from canon). I might tweak it a bit as well, but we'll see.

End result = things like:

The Twelfth Doctor and Charley, in an adventure in Cromer, armed only with their wits and a rope ladder.

The Rani and Rose, in an adventure where the authorities won't listen, armed only with their wits and a banana.

The Rani and the Master and Frobisher, in an adventure with Vikings, armed only with their wits and a double bluff.

The Twelfth Doctor and Rose and Jack, in an adventure at the beginning of the universe, armed only with their wits and a cricket ball.

The Sixth Doctor and River, in an adventure without the TARDIS, armed only with their wits and a motorbike.

The Fourth Doctor and a Clara splinter, in an adventure with the Mara, armed only with their wits and flirting ability.

The Rani and Shirley Bingham, in an adventure with a virus, armed only with their wits and ruthlessness.

The Eleventh Doctor and Amy, in an adventure with demons, armed only with their wits and a mobile phone.

The Fourteenth Doctor and Ace and Bernice, in an adventure with the Gods of Ragnarok, armed only with their wits and a bus. - Presumably this is Iris Wildthyme's TARDIS!bus?!

The Seventh Doctor and Liv and Helen, in an adventure fighting corporate greed, armed only with their wits and a chocolate digestive.

The Eighth Doctor and Kate Stewart, in an adventure set in the past, armed only with their wits and a compass.

Hee, yes, those are some fun ones! And the PI can be who you like, the Doctor has been helped by several, including Duggan, Frobisher, Madame Vastra & Sherlock Holmes as well. XD

Every plot scenario is straight out of canon! XD (I think the thing that amused me the most making this was not just how many ridiculously specific plot scenarios DW has (duh) but how many apply to at least 3 separate stories in TV canon alone. Ditto on the objects. I'm still in two minds as to whether or not to include "tossing a coin" and "involving recursion/MC Escher" because maybe there are limits?)

(Actually, I tell a lie, the UNIT CHristmas Party is not from canon, it's a bit of a fanfic cliche, but I felt it was legit as an option.)

Everything's plausible in DW by now! The cardigan being used as a solution is, again, canon. Twice. (Ian was very resourceful about how to get Barbara unravelled.)

Not at the same time, no! :D I got Five, Rory and chocolate cake; then Five, Frobisher and nudity; then Five, Ace and chocolate cake; then Five, Charley and nudity. Also Six, Kate and Osgood and a cricket ball. Frankly I think he was quite relieved there was no nudity that time, although he'd probably have enjoyed the chocolate cake.

Random generators do seem to get hung up on things for a bit. I promise there are 100+* plot and object options each, so it's not for lack of me trying to vary it up! Or was it just your psychic influence? ;-)

It certainly was for me, fiddling with it! I made the generator so it selects from [Doctor] and [companion/companion set] so it is perfectly possible to get sensible teams, and you can't get multi-Doctor action. We kept talking about companion swaps on tumblr so I thought I'd make a generator for it, but then it seemed sensible to also add a prompt and a random object because, um, well, where would be the fun and the crack otherwise? (tumblr, as usual, doesn't care, lol.)
