Because today is apparently Blake's 7 Day...

Before I get onto the other reasons, let me tell you that I am crazy (oh, yes, you had all probably gathered that by now) and so when I found this Random Pairing Generator* the other day that will do B7 pairings (it kept trying to give me Vila/Anna Grant. Now there's a scenario that's going to go well. Avalon/Kasabi was kind of intriguing, though) I thought: yes! Now we can have a B7 equivalent of whoniverse1000!!

So, um, there is, or there might/will be. It's b7love_250 (I downsized appropriately) and I am wanting some thoughts (mostly from the B7 fans round here, but other people can look and feedback if they are feeling kind).


Anyway, aside from the craziness of this idea when the fandom's quiet of late, so is LJ and the way I only occasionally have a brain... and am actually a terminally gen fic writer... and...

Seriously, some questions I have before I start making this known and public:

1. Obviously, anything unclear in the rules etc? (There probably is).

2. The original set-up over on whoniverse1000 was a commentfic one with all the action in one post. I have reasons for not doing this that way, but do people think people would be more likely to play if it was done as comment!fic? (I'm really not inclined to go that way, but I do wonder if putting things in their own post seems to make things more serious/daunting at times?)

3. Again, I'd like for my own reasons for it to be an LJ comm, but if people think it'd have a significantly better chance of generating anything over on Dreamwidth, at this stage I could still create one over there and copy and paste the work so far over. (Although I really prefer to be in one place at the moment. But, again, I wondered.)

4. ...And as I said, I KNOW I'm crazy. But what's to lose? Talking of B7 and 'things that could go wrong', then 'the comm might fall over and die before it starts' is really a very minor downside, after all.


Also, sallymn made 6 beautiful Servalan-in-white icons (see icon on this post for example). (I might have mentioned one time or other that it would be a nice thing if there were some. *guilt/joy*)

And then scifi_mel posted her vid of Jacqueline Pearce talking about her autobiography. (She got to go the other week, and there was only Katy Manning and Jan Chappell in the audience and everything. *is not jealous*)

So. Clearly it is Blake's 7 day today.

*Of the tiny group of fandoms on this site, it includes The West Wing and Blake's 7. I cannot imagine any of the people from those two fandoms ever coinciding, certainly not with things going well, but it amuses me a lot that the option actually exists. Oh, internet, internet. Or, oh, fandom... You have your moments.

ETA: It just gave me Toby Ziegler/Bayban the Butcher. I think that might be the unlikeliest pairing a RPG has ever given me. *brain 'splode* LOL

Other than that, all I have to say is that I've always found the Whoniverse_1000 commentfic setup a bit intimidating (and hard to figure out if there's anything new to read, or if you got any feedback), so I vote for the posts thing. Not that I, you know, write B7 fic or anything. o_O ;P

I knew you would see the beauty of that one. I don't who would win (it would be a competitive relationship) but it would be wonderful.

Noted. I found it okay before LJ went and changed the default design over Christmas, but it was probably annoying for the people that left the prompts I wrote, because I did have to edit a couple of them several times.

But you will! One day! And no one will have written Orac/Q and it will be waiting there especially for you in the prompt post. (Well, maybe. ;-d)

Every day should be B7 day! :lol: (Well, maybe some days can be DW, and other things, too.) And, yes, they're beautiful, aren't they? They're up for grabs, as long as you credit if you wanted to snaffle any yourself.

I think I might need some other days for one or two other shows as well, but yes! :-)

And, thanks, that was an interesting and useful review. My reading is still shaky as yet, but I must track it down sometime when I am better. I'm quite sure that at the least it wouldn't be dull!
