Pairing Meme - Last chance to guess!

Okay, before I give the answers, here are the last few, as yet unguessed. All but 3 are from US shows. (Flist, I do like some mainstream things, too! :lol:)

2 are from a show to which I am a relatively recent convert; 1 is very difficult, and came via the BBC Shakespeare (I forgot I only flailed in comments to 2 people). There is 1 DW and 1 B7 left, both of which are ships I have written. All of them are quotes/paraphrases of lines they said to each other. That's all.

1 of them is so obvious (if you switch the 'he/she' back to 'you' - and know the fandom, of course) I don't think I could give any other clue. 22 is a v famous pairing, but the quote I've used is completely misleading. (It's my favourite thing she ever said to him, though.) Actually, at least 3 of the quotes are misleading. (I'll try to be more reasonable if I do this again... My sense of humour always wins over my sense of romance.) There's 1 slash pairing, the rest are het. I've written fic for the pairings in 9, 12 & 13. For 16, I was tempted to use the description: "Traffic would not be an issue."

8. In future, she'll know where to go for mating advice.

9. He's no deb's delight.

12. She's after his lunch.

13. Imagination is their only limit.

15. He doesn't say these things to just anyone.

16. She's the girl he made fun of in elementary school.

18. Their whole relationship is the result of an alien experiment.

20. He's welcome.

22. She'd kiss him if he weren't so ugly.

But that was fun, thank you, and I'll defnitely play again sometime. (There were whole fandoms I missed out, and more reasonable quotes to use for the same pairings...)

Also, I am unable to see #18 as anything but a runaway dw_straybunnies prompt - Jamie/Victoria or Jo/Cliff or some such thing, any of the companions who wouldn't have met their opposite numbers without travelling with the Doctor (him being the "alien" in question). But I doubt it actually is. ;-)

I forgive your for your accidental solecism there, :lol: (Although Julius Caesar fandom [which as I mentioned, is a tiny but delightful place] welcomes all ships, and indeed definitely includes Antony/Cassius.) But, Brutus/Cassius, yes.

\o/ I forgot I only flailed to you and belantana. So you were the only ones who could possibly guess it with being either psychic. Or stalking me round the net and flists.

18 is NOT that, although john_elliott said pretty much the same thing. It is a quote from one of their shippiest moments in a highly shippy scene, while being quite misleading. Or at least, it would be truer to say it was down to at least 4 alien experiments. (Not a fandom you know v well, though.)

Shoot, paranoidangel24 beat me to getting #16, although until I saw 16 I thought #12 might be them since Donna frequently stole food from Josh.

12 is also from The West Wing! And involves someone who was far more obsessed with food than Donna! (I wrote a fic about them, once.)

Oh yay, one of my other favorite pairings from West Wing! DBSkyler should definitely get extra credit for the clip.

If you had said that she wanted to learn from the master, or mentioned muffins (or Fresca), I probably would have gotten it.

I didn't know that you had written any WW fic. Where could I find that?

I think you saw the Sam/Ainsley muffin one at least, but it was a while ago, but there are 3 here (on LJ; the tag brought up a few other posts).

I thought #22 sounded familiar, so I googled it to find out - and it turns out that it's from something I'm pretty sure I've never seen. (Seen the show, but not that episode.)

So I know what #22 is, but it'd be totally cheating for me to pretend I'd figured it out myself.
