Remix Madness

I signed up for Remix Madness again. It occurred to me I should say here, in case, unlikely as it seems, that any of you were wishing you could remix one of my fics one day. (Or, you know, write it properly, lost_spook.)

(You have to offer up your fic in the thread to be able to write, but you can just offer without writing, which is what I am doing, given that my brain is not at a place where it could remix. Oh, and you'd have to have an AO3 account as well if you want to do actual writing. The instructions are all at the link above.)

(I just offered up everything on my AO3 account, which has most things. I don't have a safe story, & I've never done any remixes.)

Something you can sign up for and then do nothing is quite random and pleasing, though. Hopefully some people are actually writing, of course...

:lol: But I'm not doing anything! I just put my fics on offer at the post. Probably no one will write anything from mine, most likely. But I did it last year, and someone remixed one fic as a drabble, so that was fun.

Probably no one will pick up one of mine this year, but I thought I'd offer the fics. I did it last year & someone remixed a fic as a drabble.

Eep. This has the potential to be wonderful (then again, this has the potential to be a total mess. What if you don't like the remix someone made of your story? What if they don't like the remix you've written? What if they picked up the worst story possible? What if what if what if.

But you are brave for signing up, even if you're not writing anything :D)

Well, it's not gift fic, like Yuletide - it just goes down as a work inspired by mine. Which is fairly painless. I got quite a sweet drabble off my Rimmer/Martha crossover last year.

It's being done like Yuletide Madness, and there's no saying anything will write anything off one of my fics at all.

And I'm not remixing anyone's fic! (Or certainly, not planning to!) And... while you hope people would like what you made of it, it's just a new story from an old one, with no obligations. :-)

So: I'm really not brave. Just curious! :lol:

I've thrown my pieces in the ring too. I don't know if I'll get any madness written -- I have a pinch-hit to edit/finish first! but I hope I get a chance.

I'd love to try doing a remix sometime, but this year is, again, not the year. I love that their Madness doesn't require any writing to throw your fics in - it's fun!
